Outdoor Camera vs. Indoor Camera for Front Porch

For my specific location it’s fairly safe and I have yet to really capture anything worth mentioning in the 2 years that I have been using the cameras. I could have spent many hundreds or even thousands more to have “more reliable”, “higher quality” cameras and still have nothing to show for it except for clearer pictures of people walking thier dogs, kids playing or delivery people mishandling a package.

same here, we live in a pretty safe town, I’ve never really caught anything worth sharing except for when the neighbors were fighting, the wife locked out the husband & he ended up kicking in the door lol

I never bought the wyze branded SD cards so I can’t comment on that. I can say I have never had any SD card fail on any device ever. I have various brands like sandisk, samsung, patriot.

I don’t have Wyze branded sd cards either, most of mine are Sandisk 64gb or even 128gb. I have had a couple go back & cause issues with the cam, but they’re cheap enough to toss & replace

Hmm, mostly at night yes, but certainly not entirely. Regarding the night time, I never did try just disabling the IR light altogether. We have some other lighting on much of the evening and that might be sufficient to capture images and cut down on the bug problem. (Though the regular porch lights attract them too.)

good idea, we leave our outside lights on all night, I’m gonna turn off IR on the v2 & see how it changes the picture.
