On the V3 Pro, why are we unable to set the Siren feature off with a motion detected on the V3 Pro

After a chat today with Wyze’s techs, I was informed that I can activate my V3 Pro siren feature from the app, but I cannot do it with the motion detect of the camera itself. That does not seem to be correct, at all. I can activate the Spotlight, a Recording, and sent a Notification to my phone, but I cannot activate the Siren feature automatically, on that same camera. I have 5, V2s and 1, V3 Pro cameras, but from first appearance of this situation, it appears you want me to buy another Wyze product. On the other hand, why don’t you just update the camera firmware and let it be done. If it can be done with the Spotlight, why not the Siren?

And you are correct. What Support told you is incorrect. You can activate the V3Pro Siren from Motion Detected on any Wyze Cam you own or any other Wyze Device with a Trigger in the Rules Engine.

  • Create a Device and Service Trigger Rule.
  • Choose the V3Pro as the Trigger Device.
  • Select Detects Motion as the Trigger.
  • Choose the V3Pro as the Action Device.
  • Select Turn On the Siren as the Action.
  • Click Save.

EDIT: Actually, with a bit of creative Routine\Rules programming and a Wyze On\Off device acting as a relay, you can activate the V3Pro Siren from any Non-Wyze device with a Routine trigger.

Could you get the ticket number of your support chat. It would be helpful so we can allow Wyze to inform the support rep of their mistake.

The Chat was on 21 Nov 2023 from about 8:45 to above 10:10. The first was Ticket # 3476995 with Jericho Z; the second was Ticket # 3477073 with Raquelyn; and the last was Ticket # 3477211 with Jessica.
I’m 75 and tried to relate my issue as clear and as simple as possible, but as my wife would tell you “It’s impossible for me to be simple”. Add to that, that I type very slowly and it took time for me to reply which probable caused the time outs.
Hope this helps and if I caused any problems, I’m sorry, I just had a question.
