OG Events Skipped on micro sd card

Same issue here. Every time someone walks in front of the camera, there is a gap in SD card recording. Also, no notification is coming from that event.

Wyze refunding me for the all the wyze og / 3x within warranty.

My findings: Dense fog causing Wyze OG to go bad. I pulled out a new wyze og few days ago, no issues, then the fog hit so I turned it off via the app, which leaves it on. I should have disconnected it. And guess what? All the problems resurfaced with the previous ones. These can’t handle dense fog as the v3s and v4s. I notified wyze about my findings.

Is this issue similar with any of you?

I don’t think it’s rebooting. It stalls when the event is being uploaded to the web. With a def wyze og, the streaming stops and card recording stops thus you see gaps.

Zero fog conditions where I’m located. Rain and cold temperatures but nothing below 12° and hardly ever that cold. The warranty on mine ended in October.

I have a second OG that was purchased at the same time in a 2-pack deal. I’m not able to easily set up the second new camera for testing but I would bet that it’s going to experience the same symptoms as the first camera and all the other’s mentioned on this forum post—I have little confidence that fog is the issue. There’s too many other units experiencing the same problem.

I’ve been watching live streams of trigger events any chance I can since this forum became more active and at least half of the time, the stream will slow down or freeze up entirely and lose the feed. And if I’m being honest, laggy streams or freezing up during a live triggering event (event that will be sent to the cloud) is not exactly a new experience with this camera. I’ve seen this periodicity over the past 15 months of owning the unit but without these additional problems (cloud event or SD events being “unavailable”). These associated issues are new.

As I mentioned previously I’ve seen the same behaviour on my V4 few times. It happened right after I updated the firmware which leads me to believe that it is server related as I haven’t been able to replicate it.

I made some changes to mine and it hasn’t done it since. But I have two theories.

First the things I changes is I removed the camera from my subscription and rebooted it. Then put it back into my subscription and i erased the detection zone and made a new one.

Since then (24 hours ago it has worked). BUT!!! No one has been lose to the camera in the last 24 hours NO LARGE events where signifant motion is in front of the camera.

I noticed previous it often lost recordings when BIG objects like cars pulled in close. IF this turns out to be THE THING. That may indicate that it is a problem with uploading larger files or data compression issues.

So I still have to wait to see if this is part of the issue.

Have. V3 set it up in the same direction. Both detection zones opened up to catch cars going by.

Could see OG go offline and gaps when V3 alerted.

When subscription was removed the SD card recorded without gaps and OG going offline when motion events occurred.

With subscription back and disabling SD recording the OG did not reboot or whatever it’s doing when events were detected.

SD recording on events was also flaky.

I tried the same experiment—running without the SD card and I’ve had the exact same results. I shared this with the support agent working my case and she still insisted I send a log file from the SD card for the dev team. This is unfair in my opinion as the problem is persistent without the SD card as a variable. I have half a mind to submit another support ticket request for the same problem only without SD recording involved.

That would be counter productive as it would confuse the root cause analysis for the engineering team and potentially delay the fix.

I have to imagine the higher level teams are aware of the problem at this point and the front line agents are just following SOP. While having the log files (both SD card and app) would probably help, if you’re not able to pull the card to get it, they’ll probably manage without it.

I’m back in town so I will try and access the card tomorrow and send off the requested SD log data. If anything, to keep my service ticket active.

For anyone experiencing the issue where the Wyze Cam OG stops recording to the microSD card when a cloud event happens, could you please submit a log and then DM me the log number an associated MAC address of the camera? We are trying to track down this issue.

Hear is my wyze ticket for my whole debug event and support. Wyze Ticket 4754688

That had a log submitted as part of the whole ticket. They suggested I need a new camera and that a new firmware may fix the issue but said they have no idea if a new firmware is even in development.

Since disabling cam plus i haven’t had any interruptions in the SD card data.

Not too impressed also with the WYZE service.
It’s always down. And they always blame me by saying “your internet is slow, there’s interference in your house, unplug and replug your router….etc.”
Hey Wyze, please stop treating us like kids.
All my other devices work fine thank you and I have high speed internet at 800Mbps. There’s no reason for such poor service.
As for the SD card option same thing!
It works sporadically and when it does it records certain events …even though the detection settings are high, it’s set on CONTINUOUS RECORDING and I have a high end SD card able to handle high bandwidth. It seems like they are deliberately slow or unwilling to resolve this so that we all say [Mod Edit], I’ll pay for the subscription.
Well not me. I’m switching to a competitor.

Just realized, I have Cam Unlimited, not CamPlus. Cant disable it on the OG to force continuous recording on the OG

How do you disable camplus? I thought they took away that option.

Go into your cam plus options under user then manage your cameras then remove the OG from the camplus.
