Over the course of two periods, now and back in late December ‘24, the following poor service is/was experienced:
OG outdoor mounted cam experiences poor stream quality-streams initially stall momentarily after establishing a connection, then alternate between higher and lower bit rates for about 5-10 seconds until ultimately reaching 0kb/s. A connection attempt is then self-initiated but without success. Once this sequence has been run, nearly all other Wyze devices on the account are inaccessible (two V3, Outdoor 1 and several plugs). Mileage varies as to which of the other devices inherit an “associated” outage but this occurs without fail to some degree to the other devices. “Server side” issue mentioned in the title because without any efforts on my end, the situation ceases and the OG (and all other devices) perform flawlessly. The OG is the only device with cam-plus subscription enabled. The first experience in December lasted about 4 days. I am two days into the experience presently. If I wait about ten minutes before returning to the app to view devices again, the experience is essentially reset, meaning I can connect to the OG but the above scenario begins again. IF, if I never tap the OG device to connect and stream from it, the other devices are all accessible without issue and perform normally. The OG cam appears to be capturing events without issue but I am not 100% certain of this as I’ve not myself repeat tested the camera for this while experiencing these symptoms. I can only attest to the fact that triggered events are being captured.
Please, I would ask that readers and others weighing in refrain for their sake, from listing out the litany of “Wyze fixes” and trouble shooting measures for the cameras, app, devices etc because as is with most of the Wyze experience and in my own experience (3+ Wyze user year veteran), it’s not my fault. I’m reaching out to others with similar symptoms for the sake of commiserating and to Wyze, to request a more direct and transparent approach to flagging service issues, network outages, bugs etc.
Regards,
