Notifications not working with Push Notifications ON

I had recently setup Wyze Cam V2, but I am not getting any notifications on motion/sound detection alerts. I have enabled notifications at all the places within the app and nothing is blocking on the android OS as well. I tried to share the camera with my spouse and even she is not getting any notifications. I also connected to IFTTT and there also no event is being triggered.

Below are the details :-
Product: Wyze Cam V2
Firmware Version: 4.9.5.111
Wyze App version: 2.10.36
Phone Model: One Plus 7T (Android 10)
Support Ticket#: 569197

I have tried factory reset, reinstalling the app but nothing works. I had also raised a service request with the support team but I am yet to hear back anything on that. Can I get some help on troubleshooting this?

This may not help but it’s a good bit of info, courtesy of one of our Moderators, Loki.

There are three places to control push notifications:

-Per camera in the cameras Settings > Event Recording > Send Push Notification. This can be controlled by the camera owner or shared user and will affect both. This does affect Smoke/CO Alarm push notifications.

-Globally on an account basis by tapping the bell icon on the top right of the home screen, or using the switch in Account > Notifications. This affects only the owners or shared users login account on all devices they have logged in to the Wyze app.

-In the phone’s OS settings, which can enable or disable all notifications from any particular app. This applies to only that particular phone/tablet. (Note: this is not possible in some versions of Android.)

You can think of the three notification control options as three concentric rings or gates. If the inner gate (level-1, per camera) is closed, no notifications get beyond that level. If the gate is open, then the notification can attempt to get past the next level (level-2, account), etc.

Thanks ! Yes, I have made sure that I have enabled notifications everywhere within the app and also within Android system settings.
@Loki Can you please help with this? I have shared app logs and also raised support ticket but I am yet to hear back,

Are you getting event videos showing up in the event tab atleast? And it’s just the app notifications that arnt working? Or are you not getting cloud videos showing up in the event tab also?

Will enable Wzye App in Android “Auto-Start manager” make a difference?

I am not getting anything in the event tab as well. There are no cloud videos. I can view live stream though along with the moving green bar.

I had the same problem with the notifications. Try formatting the sd card if one is installed. On mine it seemed to jam the notifications when the sd got full.

I am not using SD card on my cam.

@TheProfessor did you get this resolved? I’m having same problem. No updates in events either and no push notifications. Everything is turned on though.

Do you have Person Recognition turned on?

If so, maybe try turning off “Person” under “Notifications” also turn off “Person Recognition (pilot)” under Wyze Services.

I shut off person detection on camera and beta person detection app. Still not getting notifications

Sorry to hear it!

In addition to that, I manually re-flashed the latest firmware using a (FAT32 32GB card), then installed brand new SD cards designed for surveillance and dash cams (full formatted exFAT32 in a PC), and replaced the power supply that plugs in the wall.

Also I have been removing critical cams out of Groups in the Wyze app so they show up solo. It seems to make them more responsive.

Most of my cams are now acting relatively normal, one has been doing well the whole time with no tweaking (knock wood), and two are still not recording near as many events as they used to. So a mixed bag with no solid answers yet, just things that appear to work ~some~ of the time or ~some~ cameras.

Hopefully Wyze will have a good fix available soon!

I too am not receiving notification from my Cam V2. I have all notifications enabled (the 3 places). All events are recorded OK to disk but not always uploaded to cloud. Those events that are uploaded to cloud are not triggering notifications. I have Wyze Person detection trial enabled.

Have you submitted a Support Request ?

Two days ago, my motion sensor was triggered and a video clip was captured, but I never received a notification (audiable) on any of my Android devices linked to the account. I received them in the past! Without checking for events manually, you would never be aware something was triggered!

I have Notification intermittents.
However, I have been trying different settings on my Android 5 Tablets

I have low 1gb units, so I have been turning off Startup for some apps to save ROM.

Tiday, I tried turning Wyze on Startup. Voila
Notification is coming.

So, if you have problem like me. give it a try. If it works consistently for everyone, Wyze should add to FAQ help.
Not sure how on Newer Android.
I am a trailing technology kind of person.

Where is the “turn on Wyze on Startup” feature?

should be in your setting for apps.
