No rotation

Camera not rotating, reset button not working. I unplugged, reset push every button and still doesn’t rotate.

Welcome @jayguevara24

Make sure you did not lock the Rotation on your phone by mistake. I have done that before.

Are you talking about the Pan v3? Does it do the startup calibration rotation when you plug it into power? If not, try a different power supply (2 amp or higher) and cable. If still nothing, camera is probably dead.

FYI if you have it mounted upside down, they are prone to water getting when mounted that way. If yours was, you can try putting it in a bag of rice to dry it out, it actually did work for one of mine.

Thank you, how would I unlock it. Thanks

I think he’s referring to rotating your phone to see the image full screen. Is that the issue you’re having or is it that the camera itself doesn’t move?

If when plugging the camera in, it doesn’t do a full calibration (side to side and top to bottom) after about 10 seconds, there is an issue with the camera itself or possibly the power supply/cable.

The camera does not move side to side only up and down. I tried two different cables and same thing. I think it’s going to be the camera. I’ve only had it for less than a month it was working perfectly fine.

Yeah I’d get it replaced under warranty, sounds like one of the motors was faulty.

If the camera only moves up and down, it’s possible the USB cable is in the way. Look carefully at the mount; there’s a hole through which the cable must be threaded through. If not done this way, the cable partially blocks sideways motion.

The new mounts eliminated the hole for some reason, and now depending on how you want to mount it you actually may be required to run the cable off the side of the mount. It is possible it got wedged somehow, but I’d think it would still move a little bit.

Also do you have it mounted upside down or right side up (camera on top)? Since you say buttons aren’t working also, I’m thinking some water may have gotten in. It seems the Pan cam is not IP rated when mounted camera on bottom.

If you need it camera on bottom, you’ll want to build some sort of cover for the replacement (and probably put a strip of electrical tape, white if you have it to match, over the SD card slot and setup button). The spots where water seem to get in are at the power plug (even if you put a bit of grease around it, it can run in between the flat cable and the rubber boot) and the rotating disc.

Mine was under an eave and pretty well protected, and during a windy rainstorm, water got in. I went to right side up for the replacement, which wasn’t quite as ideal in my situation but works well enough and hasn’t had any further water issues.
