No color night vision

Wyze has company, all Samsung phones and tablets are named, “Galaxy” …

I would be good at giving all the cams new names. I would name them all after females because …

Apparently I thought I did purchase the Pro, I did not, I have the lame one without a light.

My observation still stands, this camera is not as advertised without me setting up a motion sensor light.

Also, some may not find it desirable to have the light integrated into the camera itself because that would reveal the camera’s physical location.

Of course, you could disable any integrated light if that was a concern. But some don’t want to have to pay for a feature they don’t want or need.

@karmiccam - The light is an option on the camera. You can use it any way you like. @costelrj - The starlight sensor works in low light. You do not need a motion sensor light. It has a point by which it is too dark and it can’t pick up any light. But in MANY low light situations, it’s awesome and the starlight sensor is amazing.

Otherwise, you will go to IR light. You won’t find a camera on the market that can use the starlight sensor in pitch black. You need ‘some’ amount of light… that ‘some’ is WAY below what your eye sees.

Nice scene! ( I like shadows.)

@Earl.Automation - Yes I know the light is an option. That’s why I said you can choose to disable it if you don’t want to use it. However, the cameras with the motion activated LED lights tend to cost more than the ones without it. So, if one doesn’t need it - perhaps because other motion activated lights are in use in the are to be monitored - there is no point paying extra for it.

:100:. I’ve seen issues here about one nights view being way different than another nights view when looking into their backyard and it was determined to be the moon phase that changed. Pretty sensitive!

Thanks brother!

The image that I posted above (I’ll insert it agin in case you’ve missed it), is from that same lame one without a light. The only light is the moon.

Here is another one with no moon (rainy night) with a single street light.

Actually, a cheap night light from the dollar store might give enough light without disturbing the snake.

Night colour vision on v3s is better by leaps and bounds than more expensive cameras out there.

Again, if I were you I would check the settings on the camera.

Thank you, I will check my settings, I do already have a night light on the room.

Make sure that Night Vision is OFF, that will turn the IR off and force the camera in Colour Mode. I know it is confusing. Wyze is doing terrible job at graphical interface design.

Good luck,
