Motion control and cloud storage

Hello all
I’m new to the cams. Im trying to figure out this motion capture. When I go to the cloud storage it says motion captured no matter if I have motion turned on or not.

Also how does this effect if using micro sd card? If motion is toggled off will the cam just keep recording regardless if theres movement?

The cloud is only for events, which is motion detection. Events have to be enabled from the settings of the camera. If you turn off motion detection under the events recording tab, they will not upload.

The events on the SD card are completely different. Please reference Loki’s post below. Those settings can be found under advanced settings > local storage on the camera.

That’s what I’m saying tho. Whether I have motion on or off theres still some activity in the cloud. Its showing video like every 5 seconds.

It shouldn’t be showing every 5 seconds as there is a 5 minute event cool down. That’s very odd.

Ok I think the prob was I was using a bata app. Seems okay with official app

You may want to report in the beta group or have one of the mods move this thread to the beta category.

Are you looking in “View Playback” or under “Events”? They are two separate things and the motion and sound control settings that Demonfire listed above are for the Events (the 12-sec cloud clips with the 5-min cooldown in between). For what you see under View Playback, that is on the microSD card and controlled under Advanced settings>>Local Storage. You can set it for continuous or on event only.

Here’s some more info that may help clarify:

The 12-second cloud stored clips and the SD card storage are separate and independent. They are set up and viewed in different areas of the app.

For the SD card storage, go to the camera settings, then Advanced Settings > Local Storage. That is where you set the SD card to record continuously or event-only (1 minute segments).

To view the SD card recordings, don’t tap the Events tab in the app. That is only for the cloud clips. Instead, tap the View Playback button on the live stream view. How you’ll see a timeline under thevideo frame so you can go back in time. You can also remove the card from the camera and view or download the 1-minute video files on a computer.
