More intelligence around Sunset and Sunrise

I really like how I can trigger events based on when the sun rises and when it sets, but the Schedules do not go far enough. It is critical that we be able to not only turn gadgets on/off at sunrise or sunset but also trigger events just before or just after. For instance, if I can turn our lights on at sunset, I want also to be able to turn them off at sunset + 2hr. Or if we want our fountain to turn on at sunrise, we want to turn it off at sunrise + 30min. As it stands, we have to do this manually, and as the days get longer, we risk that the turnoff time might happen before sunset, which means a device will stay on forever.

This seems like a really easy feature to add: Sunset +/- and Sunrise +/-, and it would make your products infinitely smarter and friendlier.

Hey Rick, welcome to the Forum!

This feature exists up to +/- 59 minutes, at least on cams, I think.

This is great to know because that means that the developers know how to do it! I do not see that on my outdoor power supplies, and unless I’m just looking right through it, I will root for the dev team to provide the same functionality there that they appear to have already implemented for their cams.

In the rules section, create a scheduled rule, and when selecting the times, you’ll be given a choice of sunset or the sunrise and the offset.

That’s it! Thank you for showing me that which Wyze support didn’t seem to know about. I never noticed Rules before — they are exactly what I was looking and hoping for.

Many thanks!
