Mirror (flipped/reversed) Image

I think they might come standard soon enough.

I don’t think I would rely on a $20 camera on an expensive trailer or RV.

I like the rear-view mirror cam that can switch to the rear trailer window cam so it looks like the trailer is not even there.

yea, my truck offers that however there are some negatives to using their camera:

  1. It’s $600
  2. The cable harness is only 35 feet long
  3. If I could make the cable longer, the camera must sit waist high for the trailer to appear invisible… there are two other cameras on the truck mirrors it must align with.
  4. My truck’s infotainment screen must be set to that, no maps visible, no radio… and we use that screen all the time.

I would like this feature for rear view camera. The best backup camera is my wife standing back there as I back up.
Driving down the highway, it’s not easy to know when to change lanes without a rear view camera.

Thanks for the added insight. I don’t have a truck, trailer or RV but was always curious about the tech involved.

My parents RV’d a lot. They used handsets to communicate instead of having my Mom yell to my Dad when backing up. I guess he just relied on the outside mirrors for changing lanes.

Yeah that’s the GM one I was referring to. They were touting it for a while heavily, then haven’t seen much about it. Maybe it is just well enough known now, or maybe it didn’t work too well.

I’m more interested in the announcement yesterday that the new version of my car has a top speed of 233MPH.

I’m starting to think I don’t need a 401K

Seems like you would get to the store quicker than me. Does that affect car insurance ? I have never been double-digits this car.

For me, I wonder how many audio spekers can they fit in my new car?

If they can’t catch you to give you a ticket, insurance stays pretty reasonable.

Haha.

Voted! seems more and more people are using Wyze Cam for basic backup cam and dashcam in one. Works for me but brain still brakes reversing inverted!

Would be awesome if the feed can be flipped!

Also, hoping Wyze consider releasing a dedicated product (battery, always on / switch off before killing car battery, shock detection, no fiddly wifi home setup!). Seems like a no-brainer for experienced product team.

Progress is maybe later. This is not a good sign. Maybe there should be a push for a dedicated Wyze dash/bacup cam?

WYZE staff any feedback on this would be awesome.
Maybe later = tease or probs never gonna happen?
Be nice to know if it is functionally difficult to achieve and therefore unlikely.

So, having seen nothing on this, I’ve been experimenting with using a physical mirror at 45 degrees with a Wyze Cam 4. Solves the problem visually, considering investing in a small 3D printer to make a nice “slot on” solution. Will share results, and possibly open up a little Etsy shop!
