Manually Editing Weight and Date

I just purchased the Wyze Ultra scale and wanted to manually enter my first weight from last month in order to track total weight loss from the start of my diet. I stepped on the scale to activate the first reading and then went into that result and manually changed the weight and the date (clicking the pencil icon) thinking this is how to do it, but after I pressed Save, the weight from today is still showing.

I have read here and elsewhere that manually changing the weight is not possible but that is simply not true. The Android app clearly has that option (click pencil) but it’s not saving the changes. Has anybody else seen/done this successfully? Why would the app explicitly offer a way to edit those values and then not override the numbers that still show?

If this is an app bug and manually changing the weight and date is truly not possible, can someone help me think of a clever way to fool it into doing so?

One thought I had (crazy as it sounds) is to wipe the first reading so my log is empty, then step on the scale holding something else that artificially inflates the weight to the number I want to use, and then that becomes the recorded start weight. But that wouldn’t change the date unless the app takes the date from the phone(?) so I manually roll that back first?

Any clever folks out there, can you please help me?

Okay, I have figured this out for those who want to know. When you edit the weight, it will properly save the new number but only if you do not change the date. The editing function allows you to change both he weight and date/time but if you try the latter at the same time as the weight, or on its own, it will not save. Not sure why this is happening because you can clearly edit the date/time. it’s just not updating when you save.
