My Wyze cam caught a thief taking my mail. I wanted to post to the ring app, which I also have but didn’t catch it. I got some great comments about the quality of Wyze, new customers to come it looks. Haha

The mail thief did not ask the OP if they could take the mail. OP should not have to ask their permission to post their face on an Internet forum.

I just found this forum today haha. I’ll use it more now that I found it. But to be honest, the Ring one is easier to use.
Forgot to add, it wouldn’t let me post a video. I think it may be because I am a new member, though I’ve used Wyze for years, I’m new to the forums.

Oh yeah, I think they want you browse at least a couple of other threads first and spend at least 10-20 minutes in the forum. That helps make sure spammers and bots can’t just immediately flood the forum with junk. We know you’re real though. Maybe one of the mods will see this and give you an over-ride to level 1 so you can post it, otherwise, if you read just a few other posts and then come back it should probably update you automatically.

I am going to assume that, prior to posting that video or image on any Social Media site, you reported the Felony and provided the video / images to the Federal Law Enforcement division of the USPS: The US Postal Inspection Service.

I did the same thing last year . I had someone in a hoodie , ski mask , and jump suit walk up my driveway, try to open my car , and then walk around my house and then walk away at 3 AM.
I still had the ring app installed on my phone and so I uploaded it to the neighbors tab on the ring app to let the other users in the area know.
I made sure to have the wyze logo showing on the recording, a few users asked me about the cameras and I sold them on the fact that wyze cameras can record 24/7 and ring only records motion!

I never reported it because I was thinking this would fall on deaf ears. But I took your advice and just submitted this to the USPS. I hope they follow up. Thanks again for the advice.

That dude looks like he was totally tweaking! His paranoia and super shifty head jerks were almost unreal like he was acting it all out for a skit or something. Crazy. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I saw your post yesterday, very frustrating. Unfortunately for us we didn’t get our mail that day and they got a new CC sent to my wife. They were able to activate it (not sure how) and use it for around $200 before the CC company contacted us for suspicious activity. Of course they reversed the charges and took care of everything but it’s very frustrating that they were able to get anything from this, it’s going to make them continue to do this. Sense then I’ve been paranoid and I get the mail as soon as I see the mail truck leave (thanks to the Wyze camera I know when that is).
Unless you are constantly applying for credit, consider a credit freeze (which is free). I can unfreeze my credit when needed, but I never get credit card offers in the mail.

I have a lock on all three of the credit bureaus already from issues in the past. Unfortunately, the CC that was stolen was just a new card from an existing account. But somehow they were able to activate it and change the PW.
