Looking for Users Experiencing SD Card Issues (Cam Pan v3 / v4, Cam v3 / v4)

How has this issue been going on for so long? I have two Wyze Cam V3 that have recently started doing this. Formatting the card in the cams fixes it temporarily and then the next time I try to view an event I see the “SD Card is not supported” popup.

I’ve been experiencing the same issue with 2 of my Cam Pan v3 cameras. I did everything you have and have experienced the same issues.

When I communicated with Wyze support while under warranty, I was told they were working on a firmware patch to fix this. Now my cameras are out of warranty, there is still no fix and Wyze refuses to accommodate me for their defective cameras, we’ll except to offer a paltry sum that won’t even cover have the value to replace 1 camera.

I’m hoping for a class action lawsuit soon. Wyze has know about this issue for several years, yet continue to sell these defective devices.

They should be replacing them for the effected customers.

I would love a class action. This has been ongoing for way too long and they continue to sell devices with features that do not work!

In the end, my personal decision—due to the very poor support—was to replace all Wyze products under my responsibility.

These included several AC thermostats, doorbell cameras, a bunch of Cam V2/3, and quite a few Cam Pan V3/V4.

The associated Cam Unlimited subscriptions were also canceled.

The AC thermostats weren’t really a loss. Home Depot accepted the returns without any issues since they were within one year. The same went for the Cam Pan V4s. The Cam V2/3s had served their purpose. In the end, the Cam Pan V3s are all that’s left. But that comes to less than $200 in total.

I would welcome a class-action lawsuit. But I suspect that the Wyze company would collapse and disappear before a single cent is paid out.

All my FOUR V4 PAN cameras stopped recognizing their SD cards last month (all 64GB Sandisk High Endurance from reliable source, all tested, all legit). WHAT IS GOING ON ? Please help me understand WHAT IS GOING ON HERE.

No one knows what’s going on since the people at wyze have been completely silent about the issue. They don’t care.

Yup, WYZE starts a thread to gather information or make an announcement then completely abandons the thread. This has happened multiple times on this forum.

Actions speak louder than words!

At first I was only having problems with my pan cam v3. Now my cam v2 won’t record to they SD card either.

Still no updates on this issue from @WyzeEnTing ? Surely by now you have a few logs to go through that might show why the cameras stop recording and/or stop detecting SD cards?

My Pan v3 cameras, which I liked so much, are just sitting literally collecting dust…

This is the third memory card that has been corrupted by Wyze Cameras.

I just tapped the firmware update which had “BETA” next to it. V4.52.17.26

This latest SD card has been working fine for months now, but after the firmware update the memory card was “not readable” and inserting it into Windows or Mac OSes yielded a corrupted destroyed card with critical footage not saved.

You should open the Windows ‘Disk Management’ (search for ‘diskmgmt.msc’) and look at the SD card there - most likely it just has a corrupted partition that you simply need to delete and re-create.

This thread has been disheartening to read through after experiencing the same SD card error that many others have and not hearing any new information from Wyze.

Thank you for taking some time to offer up this suggestion! I’ve tried everything so this was one of the things I tried to no avail.

Wyze sent me a 32g card and it initially worked, but after about 1 week it would not longer record tonit and the camera would not allow me to retrieve any previously recorded video. Just the same error message, “no video available at this time”.

This is beyond frustrating, especially because Wyze is not taking any responsibility for their failed cameras and suggesting we just be patient that they are forever working on a correction for this issue.

When is the Class Action lawsuit?

Having this issue now on my newer camera :frowning: Will see if the ‘fix’ holds…

What is your “fix”? Formatting the SD card outside the camera? Many people have tried that in every imaginable way. I sure know I have. Different cards, different ways to format, nothing matters. At BEST the camera will ding, detect and operate the SD card (format button in the app works for example) and start recording continuously. BUT, without fail, after 2-8 hours it will suddenly stop recording without indication.

Wyze is forcing us to subscribe for the services that are free with shutting off use of SD. It’s not a SD card product problem it’s firmware update excluding us use now!

Due to how these SD card issues manifested for my 2 pan v3 cameras, sadly I don’t think this is purely a firmware (software) problem, I think there is some kind of hardware fault. They MIGHT be able to make things work despite that fault with a firmware update, but yeah. These SD card issues didn’t start with a sudden firmware update for me, and they didn’t start at the same time for my two cameras. They started as occasional SD card recording failures that were easily fixed with a reboot. They would record for less and less time between failures but it took months to start getting bad. And then eventually they both got to the point where they only record for a few hours. That doesn’t sound like a firmware-caused issue to me.

I got so tired of the problems, and the real lack of support/concern from Wyze, that I threw them all in the trash can. I won’t be purchasing anymore Wyze products in the future.

Honestly, I cannot say that I blame you. I hope your new brand does better for and by you.
