I’m out of town until Friday but I will forward the info once I return.
Hi @BFF ,
Thank you for sharing the SD card details.
We would like to clarify a few things to better understand what happened.
- Are you still using this 64GB card with your Cam Pan v3? If so, after reformatting the card, has the issue improved?
- Was the card formatted on your PC or using the camera?
- When the app showed “No microSD card”, were new recordings still being saved on the card, or were the recordings you found on the PC from earlier when the camera was still recognizing the card?
- You also mentioned that 32GB cards seem to work reliably. Could you confirm whether the 32GB card you are currently using is working normally without the same issue?
If you are still using the 64GB card, could you please try the following troubleshooting steps and let us know the results?
- Remove the SD card, wait about 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Please note whether you hear the “ding-ding” sound.
- If there is no “ding-ding” sound, please check whether the SD card can be read and written normally on a computer.
- If the SD card works normally on a computer, please back up any important data and format the SD card.
- Reinsert the SD card into the camera. If you hear the “ding-ding” sound, please wait at least 1 minute and check whether recording resumes.
If the issue persists after these steps, please submit a device log through the Wyze app and share the Log ID with us.
Thank you for helping us investigate this!
- No.
At the moment, I’ve installed 32 GB again. I’m just too lazy to set up the ladder every time to get to the camera above the garage door. - First, the card was used with the manufacturer’s formatting. On the second attempt, I performed a complete FAT32 formatting using Windows 11.
- No idea. I took the card out, read it on my PC, and saw that there was actually something written on it. Then I reformatted it and put it back in.
- All 32 GB microSD cards used so far work in the Cam Pan V3. Only the Wyze 32 GB microSD card that came with the camera was a bit stubborn. It would occasionally shut down in the summer. You had to turn the camera off, turn it back on, and reformat the card. In the end, I threw the card away.
For the rest, I’ll see if I can get my hands on another Cam Pan V3 in the next few days. There were also problems with cards larger than 32 GB.
Question from me.
Which file system is actually the “right” one for these cameras? FAT32 is mentioned everywhere, but exFAT is actually slightly better for data carriers larger than 32 GB. Yes, Microsoft apparently wants to make it possible to format large 32 GB drives using FAT32 again. But whether that will actually happen and still make sense remains to be seen.
Hello again.
For the moment, I have set up a Pan Cam V3.
I inserted one of the above-mentioned Amazon 64 GB cards into it. I deleted the microSD card using MiniTool PartitionWizard and did not create a new partition or format it. The idea behind this is that the camera or firmware does what it thinks is right.
So I formatted the microSD card using the camera as suggested and set the camera itself to record pretty much everything onto the card.
And now we wait and see.
Ah so glad I found this!! No hate on Wyze, I have 6 Wyze cameras + the doorbell, and all of them EXCEPT my pan cams have worked perfectly for YEARS. No issues. That in itself is amazing and why I haven’t moved away from Wyze!
Unfortunately whatever has been going on for a few months with the pan cams is driving me crazy. It’s also caused a few very real problems - in one incident, my V3 Pan Cam captured a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle, and police asked me for footage. Despite having continuous recording and all other settings perfectly configured, I could only show them the event clips, not the continuous contextual footage. There were timing gaps that made the footage borderline useless to them.
When I tap the SD card icon it shows ‘no video at selected time’, yet there are many event clips for those times.. Unplugging the camera would make it record to the SD card for perhaps 20 minutes, but that’s not sustainable. After weeks of daily unplugging, a pop up appeared saying the SD card isn’t supported. Formatted it several times. No luck. Chatted with Wyze support and did all the troubleshooting, including getting a new recommended brand name SD card. Still same issue including saying the brand new card was unsupported! Formatting did not work. I tried the SD card in my other wyze cameras, no issue! Wyze support basically said buy it was time to buy a new pan cam. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the camera, but again it only recorded to the card for perhaps 20 mins. And yes, the ding ding still happened when inserting SD card!
I had international travel coming up, so figured just buy the new one, and a new SD card, and all will be well. All started well…and within a week, ‘no video available at this time’ appeared, even though set to continuous, and even though many event clips. Thankfully no pop up about the card being unsupported or anything, but still a hassle. Uninstalled and reinstalled, ding ding still happened! I take that as a good sign…
Camera 1: Pan Cam v3
MAC address: D03F279C0B3E
Firmware: 4.50.16.5654
SD cards used: Samsung EVO 128GB, Lexar 128GB Both cards were formatted multiple times.
-Worked perfectly for 3 years! (also want to note that my other Wyze cameras are 4-6 years old, and have zero issues!)
Camera 2: Pan Cam v4 (replacement camera)
MAC address: 80482C99413A
Firmware: 4.70.1.3311
SD card: SanDisk High Endurance 128GB**
-**Unlike the v3, the v4 does not report any SD card errors. The issue I see is simply: “No video available at this time.” However, event clips still appear normally.
Interestingly, today when I checked the V4 camera I can now see continuous SD card footage starting yesterday evening, but nothing prior to that. So the camera appears to intermittently resume recording on its own.
Unfortunately this still makes it impossible to retrieve earlier footage, footage which should theoretically exist. Since this issue has occurred across two Pan Cam generations and multiple SD cards (which work fine in other Wyze cams), it appears to be a firmware or device compatibility issue rather than an SD card failure.
Because I am currently traveling internationally, I can’t do anything physically with the camera to troubleshoot more. But when home in a few weeks, I’d be happy to do any further tests to resolve this!
Thank you SO MUCH for finally working on improving SD card reliability. Continuous recording is a critical feature for many of us using these cameras in active areas!
Hi @eliz_van , thank you so much for sharing all of these details, and I’m really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused in your daily life.
We would like to better understand how the SD cards behave on a PC. If possible, could you please let us know whether the SD cards:
• can be detected normally on a PC
• can be read and written normally
• can be formatted successfully
If it’s convenient, could you also try the steps mentioned in the post below and let us know the result of each step?
If the issue still occurs, please also share the Log ID with us and let us know which device/SD card it corresponds to, so we can investigate further.
Thank you again for your patience and for helping us look into this!
Hi @BFF , thanks for the update!
At this point, it looks like the card can be detected and formatted by the camera, but the behavior still seems a bit inconsistent. We’d like to continue monitoring whether the recording remains stable over time.
If the issue happens again, could you please help us check:
• whether the app shows “No microSD card” or “No video available”
• whether recordings are still accessible when checking the card on a PC
• and share a Log ID from the app (ideally right after the issue occurs)
Thanks again for your help!
- MAC address of the affected camera(s)
D03F27C998FC / D03F27C985C4 - Camera model
Cam Pan v3 - Firmware version
4.50.15.4800 - SD card brand, model, and capacity. Photos of both sides of the SD card would also be very helpful if possible
Sandisk Ultra 32GB - Approximately how long recording runs before stopping
The cards lasted about three months - Whether you see any error messages in the app
”MicroSD Card Not Supported” - Whether the SD card has been formatted
Yes and they were working for three months. - Whether this started after a firmware update
Not sure since the firmware was auto-updated.
Hi @mrbillonline , thanks for the feedback!
Could you please reboot the device first to see if the issue recovers?
If not, please try the steps below and let us know the results:
- Remove the SD card, wait about 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Please note whether you hear the “ding-ding” sound.
- If there is no “ding-ding” sound, please check whether the SD card can be read and written normally on a computer.
- If the SD card works normally on a computer, please back up any important data and format the SD card.
- Reinsert the SD card into the camera. If you hear the “ding-ding” sound, please wait at least 1 minute and check whether recording resumes.
- If the issue persists after these steps, please submit a device log through the Wyze app. When submitting the log, please include the Log ID and note whether the steps above were performed.
Thank you for your help and patience!
I’ve had enormous success with SD cards on my cameras over the years, so I’m probably not a great candidate for helping you solve your overall mystery. That said, I did just have a SD card incident this morning, but on a camera other than you specify.
I wanted to check an event I saw on another camera from a different angle, so I called up the SD card on a V3 Pro, v4.58.14.4178 (none of my three V3 Pros see the .5654 update). There was no video available from the SD card. So I started clicking the calendar date, and found it stopped recording at just after 2 PM on 3/13/26 (6 days ago).
I tried turning off, then on Continuous recording, then reformatting the card to no avail (and this was after waiting several minutes for the card to do it’s once-a-minute write to the SD card). The way I WAS able to get it recording again was to turn off recording, format the card, then turn recording back on. So that specific order was needed to fix my particular issue.
I use a Samsung 32 GB Pro Endurance Class 10 card, but since a software procedure fixed the issue, I don’t really suspect it.
I don’t know what happened 6 days ago, maybe I updated the firmware (I often wait a long time to update). However, I have 2 other V3 Pros on .4178 that do not have an issue. My other V4s (on 4.52.9.4188 and 4.52.9.5332) or even my V3 Pan (4.50.15.4800) do not have SD card issues. It may be worth noting my V3 Pan does not see the .5336 or .5654 updates.
This cam may also have a hardware problem. A week or so ago (?) I checked the camera, and it had a ‘permanent’ motion box on screen (there was no motion). Power-cycling the camera did get rid of the box. My cameras typically cycle power every day at 4:30 AM, so if it happened before I may not have noticed it. This weirdness may also have been related to the SD card not recording at the time.
I will DM @WyzeEnTing my hardware address in case he can get a log, but I may have lost that with the reformat.
So anyone with trouble it might be worth a quick “turn off recording, format the card, then turn recording back on” test to see if that gets recording working again. This may work in a few cases. ![]()

All four cameras experience similar issues including “No video available at this time.”, “Cannot Access MicroSD Card”, Not detecting SD card. Sometimes after multiple attempts the SD card will be recognized. I have tried new MicroSD cards and this doesn’t change the behavior of any of the cameras.
In cases when I’ve taken the SD card out of the camera I can read the contents on my computer. I have tried reformatting the SD card in the camera and out of the camera with my computer and this allows the camera to recognize the SD card in most cases. If I remove the SD card and reinsert it I usually/always do hear the chime.
I do understand that my information above is slightly vague but the problem has been on going for so long that I don’t have the patience at the moment to to a more controlled and detailed report.
I’ve enjoyed using my Wyse products and hope that this issue can be resolved. I have the Wyse DoorBell v2 and and old PanCam and these don’t have these issues.
Cheers,
Tom Clark
I followed your five step procedure and both cams are recording again. It’s important to note that I tried to read both disks on a PC and Windows reported the disks had errors so I formatted with Windows. After I got both of them working again, I rebooted one cam and it went right back to the “MicroSD card not supported” error. Attempting to format with the Wyze app failed, so I repeated your five step process to get it working again. We don’t get frequent power outages, but going through these five steps on a ladder every time the lights flicker is not something I want to do.
Of the two cams that were not recording, I was able to view the last recording on one which was on February 4th, 2026. Maybe this is helpful for diagnosing the problem, but I went almost six weeks without knowing there was a problem. Anyway, I hope your team can provide a firmware fix for this and add a MicroSD card offline notice in the app.
Thanks for your help and have a good day.
Hi @tom.f.clark , thank you for sharing all these details, and we’re really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused in your daily life.
To confirm our understanding, it sounds like the SD cards can be read and written normally on a computer, and after formatting on a PC they work for a period of time, but then become unrecognized again. Is that correct?
We’d also like to check whether you’ve seen cases where the same SD card is not recognized on a Pan Cam v3, but works normally on other Wyze devices. If so, could you please help test by inserting the same SD card into both devices and follow the steps in the post, then share the Log IDs with us? This will help us compare the behavior across devices.
If you encounter this issue again, please try rebooting the device first to see if it recovers. If not, please follow the steps in the post and share the Log ID with us after completing them.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we truly appreciate your patience!
Hi @Newshound , thank you so much for sharing your detailed feedback.
I’ll follow up with you via DM to see if we’re still able to capture any logs. Thanks again for your help!
Hi @mrbillonline , thank you so much for your detailed feedback.
Just to confirm, after following the five steps the cameras are able to record again, but after a reboot the issue returns with the “MicroSD card not supported” error, and formatting through the Wyze app does not work. Is that correct?
That is correct.
Am I wrong to assume the reboot process caused a recording file error? Does the Wyze format option first scan for disk errors, find the error and aborts the format option entirely as a result?
Android 15, Wyze App Ver: 3.8.6 723 , FW: 4178
- I realize my camera models are not specified in this post, but I do have an odd experience that may, or may not help.
- This is regarding four V3 Pro cameras all of which have the same firmware and all using the same brand and size SD cards on continuous record. None have failed or given me issues until last week.
When I had decided to “reset” services from within the app one one camera. - From that point forward the camera was NOT recording continuously. So I ….
Reformatted, logged out, logged in, restarted, etc., to no avail. - I also had noticed that the UI just for this camera had changed, and the SD card setting did not have a specific category in and of itself like the other three do under camera specific settings, but was now under “advanced”.
- After restarting, resetting a “resetting services” again, nothing had changed, and I just stopped trying for a short time, to see if something would miraculously resolve it. It didn’t.
- Here comes the part that I find important…. On a whim I thought “what if I put it on “only record events”? So that is what I did…and guess what…It’s recording continuously now
after setting it to only record events, and when set to continuous, it only records events.
Not sure if this helps with the other models or not, but in my case, after doing a services reset on the camera, it seemed to have gotten the settings backwards (or switched around) for “events only” and “continuous” recording to SD card.
It ALSO has not gone back to having the same layout/UI for the camera as the other three that have their own category for SD card.
Worth a try for some ppl? Definitely something for the Wyze tech team to look into.
Well it’s been nearly a month and no firmware fixes! 4 cameras Neely useless
Need to get firmware Pan v3 running firmware 4.50.15.4800 which does work, how do I do that!
Though I was able to get both working, they now say “No video available at this time.” On one cam there is 4.41G of data written to the card and the other 1.53G of data written to the 32G cards. Meaning they didn’t stay operational for very long.
On one cam I restarted the device, then went into the SD card settings and it said “MicroSD card not supported.” It prompted me to format it, which I did in the app, and it said “Format Failed.” These cams are just a disastrous loop of bugs.
I’m thinking these Cam Pan v3’s are just too unreliable for our basic security application and should be replaced with something else. Anyway, I’m getting too old to be climbing ladders all the time.
