My Login Account lists my name as
Profile Name Unknown Unknown

How do I either change my Profile Name to mine, or how to delete the Login Account and start over?

Been like that since I setup my account.
Just seems impersonal.

Someone seemed to warn me my email was showing … Is that an issue of security or spam something?

This is a public site, so putting out personal information is discouraged.

Since the name issue is on your main Wyze Account, you are most likely going to need to contact Customer Support to have it fixed. My account shows my legal government name.

I have found no way to modify any personal information thru any of the Website Account Profile pages or in the App.

I have the same problem with my daughter’s account. Last year I ordered daughter #2 a camv3. Daughter #1 helped her set it up. I never had a reason to go into her account until now, to change the billing info. That’s when I noticed no name in there. I’m guessing that Daughter #1 never put one in there for her, I didn’t have that problem with my account. Anyway, there’s nowhere to change it. I guess I’ll have to get daugh#2 to call them herself.

No. I was only in there this evening and figured I’d have my daughter call them tomorrow. But after I wrote that I found another thread about this where the poster did call customer support and was told to post in the forum for an answer because they couldn’t help. So, as moonstoneartstudio said, we’re just letting it go. I was at least able to get into her account to change the billing info.

Maybe @loki can explain?

Since this is on the wyze.com side of things, contacting Customer Support (206) 339-9646 Monday - Friday 5 am - 6 pm PT and Saturday 8 am - 4 pm PT is the way to get it addressed. If you do decide to contact them and get that answer again about using the forum, please let us know so we can escalate the support case.

But seriously, this is really annoying. i have contacted customer support via chat and they told me they cannot change my name on the website? Really? The company that defaulted my name to Unknown Unknown and then welcome me by that name every time I log in does not have the technology to change it? Come on WYZE, i really like your products, i have 5 cameras and a doorbell and like them so much i am adding a full home security system in the next 3 weeks, but I am going to need you to figure out how to change my name on the website before i can trust you with securing my home. For anyone currently being identified as “Unknown Unknown” in their Wyze Website account, please post the Ticket Number that was given to you by Customer Support so that the issue can be escalated.

Could we delete our account, and re-Register with a actual name?
Any negative consequences of doing so?

I’m not sure what will happen if you delete your account and start over. I have never had someone do that. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. Not sure if you would have to use a new email address or not as that is the unique identifier for your account. And, with the number of cams, subscriptions, event videos, settings, rules, etc. that I have on my account, starting over would be a last resort only to deal with a complete reactor meltdown, not something like this.

This has only recently been reported as an issue so we are still trying to determine the quickest way to fix it.

Since Customer Support states they can’t change it - if we have a Customer Support Ticket Number, there is a way we can flag that number to be looked at by a Wyze Team Member who can then check to see if there is a procedure available to get this done. That is why we are asking for Customer Support Ticket Numbers.

I flagged it and routed it up the chain.


I went through the process of filing an Issue and a Ticket # and also another Number and got this response … maybe a solution is in the making???

This has been determined as a bug in our service and is not a hardware issue. Your log has been sent to our Engineers.

Rest assured they are looking into the root cause to integrate what was lacking in our system. We don’t have an estimated time frame on when this will be resolved, currently, the fix is being tested before being released to make sure there are no additional issues.
