I bought 3 lock bolt v2. Yesterday I tried installing the first one. Overall hardware install was pretty easy, but when it got to the software, that’s where the problems began. I get to “calibrating your device” but it never gets past there, it’s always timing out.
I quit the app, got back in, tried calibrating a few mote times, but eventually on the app home screen I see “battery 0%”. Look on the outside of the lock and it is also showing low battery. That’s odd, I used the duracells included in the box. Pulled out a multimeter, the cells were showing 1.34V. At this point, I’m thinking maybe a supplier slipped in some bad cells.
Off to Costco, buy a bunch of AA batteries, and try again. Same thing happens. Lock doesn’t calibrate, batteries get eaten.
Is this a known issue, or did I just get unlucky?
