I recently bought and installed a Lock Bolt. Unfortunately, I found out after I did this that the community I live in requires all locks to have a brass coloring. Does anyone know how simple it would be to remove the front face plate and spray paint it a brass color? Is it as simple as bolt removal and replacement after painting?
Depends on how deep you want to get. You could prep the device without breaking it down by taping and covering all things you don’t want painted.
If you remove the 4 screws from the back of the panel, you will expose the keypad and fingerprint reader boards. You can gently remove those then will have only the face plate to paint.
Not terribly hard I imagine, but I would highly encourage that when re-assembling you ensure everything is flush or your will most likely lose your IP rating. I would also say, in doing so will void any manufacturer warranty.
@spamoni did a really nice rework job with the Wyze Lock and Keypad may be able to offer some pointers even though a different device.
@R.Good are you able to forward this to @spamoni? I don’t seem to be able to message him directly as I may not have reached the needed trust level for the forums. Just really looking for any pointers to paint. Interested in how he dealt with the keypad, USB-C port, etc., anything that won’t be directly painter.

To be clear, I did not paint the Lock Bolt. I painted the original Lock and keypad. But I believe the same will be true for the lockbolt, not prep is everything here:
I did a basic quick sanding on the Lock and keypad. I decided not to take the keypad apart, but I used painters tape to mask out each key. I have read that some individuals put Vaseline on the keys itself so the paint will not stick to it.
Then I purchased Rustoleum Paint from Lowes. Selected the needed color, mine was Oil Rubbed Bronze. I did the basic, paint and sand it with a finer grit sand paper. I painted it 3 times.
Note: If you can take the Keypad plate off the device, that would be the best, but I did not want to risk the seals or compromise the Lock in anyway.
Also, @R.good took one of his apart. The Keypad is the top of the device where you see 5 torx screws. The Finger Print is on the bottom. You can try to unscrew those and then see if they remove easily. If they do, then it would be a simple spray with no need for taping.
