Hi
So II have issues with local recordings. Is anybody else having issues like where it doesn’t save but it shows the event thumbnails, then it says I have to purchase a subscription now to access those video recordings even this I have a SD card.

Welcome to the Forum, @adrnjason!
How are you trying to access your local recordings? If you’re not subscribing to any Wyze services but trying to use the “play” button from an event, then the app will prompt you to subscribe. For your local microSD card recordings, you have a few options:
Does any of that get you what you’re seeking?
As @crease mentioned, it is likely the way you’re attempting to watch them. The app doesn’t do a good enough job differentiating between cloud recordings (the play button, requires a subscription) and SD card recordings (tapping the “watch playback” or “jump to SD” button, which does not).
Guess you can I’m new to wyze. But you are right, I do have a hard time navigating and can’t tell which is which. The advertisement on I saw on YouTube had me thinking that all videos were recorded local and no subscription was needed.
Thanks
That can be true if you’re using a microSD card and have the camera configured for that. Subscriptions bring additional features, but many users don’t want or need those, and the basic features available with microSD cards seem suitable for a lot of use cases.
Ok I did that and I know I had events, they should be recorded right? But there are no events for me. and I have it on continuous record or should it be events only
What does your Settings ➜ MicroSD Card screen show? On the screenshot that you shared, that vertical line on the right should show a green stripe if your camera is recording to microSD, either solid for Continuous recording or interrupted for Events Only recording.
If you have a micro SD card, just know to never hit the button with the play icon right below the image in an event (that’s the cloud playback icon), always use the icon that says “view playback” at the bottom of the screen. That takes you directly to that spot on the SD card.
If you don’t have a card, the best deals right now on endurance rated cards (highly recommended for continuous recording) are the Sandisk High Endurance on amazon, $10 for 64 gigs (5 to 7 days of continuous recording) and $14 or so for 128 gigs and double the recording time. If you only want event recording, you can get away with non endurance cards but they aren’t much cheaper, not really any reason to not get them regardless. In event only recording, a 64G card could store months to years of events depending how much motion you have.
I’m guessing you are set to events only. Matter of preference whether you want continuous or events, that’s up to you. I have some of each depending what they’re looking at.
In event-only recording, go back to the event list, tap an event, then at the bottom of the screen tap “view playback”. That will take you right to that spot on the SD card. Or you can scroll through the timeline/dates to find it that way too.
