I have a doorbell v2, three cam v4s, and three v3s. After an update, the doorbell v2 keeps defaulting to 360p instead of the 2k I have it set to. I noticed two of three v3s defaulted to SD, and two of three v4s took themselves off of 2.5k resolution. The put all cameras back to the highest resolution, and they all stayed that way expect the doorbell v2. When I close the app and open it back up, it wants to go back to 360p. What am I doing wrong here?
Some of the camera models will automatically reduce the stream if they sense congestion or network bandwidth issues. I haven’t seen it on my v4, but it has a decent signal. Doorbells frequently have a bad signal because they’re right up against the house and normally wifi needs window to get a good signal outside. Maybe the update has made that more sensitive, or enabled that feature on the doorbell. We’ll see if anyone else reports the same.
You don’t mention your router brand, but some WiFi routers have a Priority setting to give some devices bandwidth priority. I used to have a Linksys router that had this feature. You might check your router setting to see if this feature is available.
