My Lamp Socket V1 worked perfectly for several years until a person I hired to pressure wash the house decided to power wash the inside of the light fixture it was enclosed in and ruined it. I ordered and installed a Lamp Socket V2 to replace it. Big mistake - I should have bought a new Socket V1. Socket V1 would turn on the light bulb in less than 2 seconds when Wyze Cam V3 detected motion. Socket V2 takes anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds to turn the light on after Cam V3 detects motion, and by that time, whatever triggered the motion detection is usually out of the camera’s sight. I have made sure all firmware and app are up to date, and have tried adjusting every possible setting in the app to overcome this. The wi-fi signal strength is usually at three out of three bars, just like when the Socket V1 was running perfectly - I don’t intend to invest in an additional mesh node to boost that wi-fi signal up higher (if higher is even possible). Very disappointing. Has anyone else experienced this?
I have not. I’ve been using Lamp Socket v2 × 2 connected to Cam v4 to provide lighting in a storage room whenever Cam v4 triggers a Person detection event, and I usually have lights on within a second or two of opening the door and entering the room.
I have other issues with Lamp Socket v2 that I’ve described in detail elsewhere, but the initial response time from Person detection is not one of those.
