I’m using the wyze app with multiple entry sensors on my doors and windows. I’d like to create an automation so that if any door or window is opened, siren sounds alert across the home.on all my home (wired/wireless) cams. Right now, it seems like I need to set up a separate condition for each individual sensor, which feels cumbersome. I’m looking for a way to group sensors together or create multiple combinations under one condition( using OR for sensors) instead of configuring each one separately.
Is this available or does this need to be added on a Wyze wishlist?
Any suggestions / recommendations are appreciated!
meaning, need to integrate Wyze with IFTTT or Home Assistant?
I do not prefer IFTTT - this was a free service, and then came the subscriptions(not a fan), Need to search integrations between Wyze and Home Assistant, will search Wyze forum.
YoLink, I believe would be complete new eco…i am head deep into Wyze, and plan not to change for a while. However you bring an excellent point… if Yolink can it in their app, why cannot Wyze do it?
Hit submit, too quick, thank you for your inputs, WildBill
You might be able to trick it. You may be able to create an Alexa routine that turns on the virtual switch when the Wyze sensor is triggered, and Home Assistant can use that switch’s state to trigger automations. This method requires an active internet connection. May be some cloud delays.
Seckaties Haos integration doesn’t expose Wyze sensor, they’ve know of but double check on GitHub. I don’t have Wyze sensors.
There are some older Haos integratios around if you search.
Probably the best and most reliable for me has been Aqara sensors and a Zigbee USB dongle in Haos.
I imagine it’s been suggested elsewhere, too, but that’s the one topic that immediately came to mind when I read your post. I haven’t seen any particular action on that one, but you’re always welcome to search the Wishlist category and then vote and comment in topics that are important to you.
My environment is diverse. Wyze, YoLink, TP-Link, Z-wave (plus others) unified, to some extent, using Home Assistant. HA allows me to use switches, sensors, plugs, etc from various manufacturers. I use YoLink motion detectors to activate Z-wave switches and Wyze bulbs. I don’t have any cameras linked to HA, but don’t really need them. Also us Alexa to announce person detection events from cameras.
There are several of us that bring up conditional operators with Wyze employees every chance it’s relevant, Especially to anybody with any connection to the automation rules engine.
@spamoni and myself are particularly vocal about this and will continue to bring it up.
Personally, I think this issue is currently at a deadlock. What it will take to overcome this deadlock, in my opinion is the following: matter camera libraries need to launch, which should happen by the end of this year according to some insiders. Then after that, Wyze we’ll consider how to move forward on their future road map for products. This will initially focus on cameras, but then probably eventually expand to other smart home things. Then, when Wyze shows an interest in slowly moving toward Matter compatibility and expanding to be more in the smart home industry again instead of just cameras, then they will have to address their automation deficits.
So, timeline wise, if I had to guesstimate, I would say the matter. Tamar library is Will launch by the end of this year, then Wyze we’ll make some road map determinations about future cameras and whether or not they are going to do some kind of matter bridge in the future (both of these will probably take up rnd for next year, 2026), then they will determine what to do with their next generation of smart home products including sensors and everything else. Then in order to convince people to continue to use their platform instead of using one of the major platforms as their primary, they will have to address the deficits. So, I don’t really have hopes of this getting addressed before sometime in 2026 at the earliest right now, but more likely not until sometime in 2027.
But I don’t work for, speak for, or represent wise in any official capacity. I am purely making an educated guess based on a variety of factors.
Arrest assured. There are plenty of us who constantly bring up the conditional operator deficits they have with their automations. I also bring up other automation deficits.
