I think it would be nice to offer praise to the engineers/technicians when they offer great ideas and implement them. Hopefully letting them know they did something helpful that improves their product and customer satisfaction.
I recently used Time lapse on the OG cam and was impressed by three features that they should introduce to other cams.
- A time and size calculator in the app for Timelapse recordings.
(Reflection normally is not there during an actual recording.)
This calculation (in yellow) really helps when recording events for more than a day. Downloading a 1.9 GB file with 3 second-intervals could produce a huge file. Of course, you could have done this adjustment with the older IU, but the calculation is easily available with the OG to make a file size less than huge.
- Record Now
I noticed on the OG, you can immediately start recording without setting start and stop times by using record now.
This feature would allow you to start recording immediately, if you needed an immediate recording.
- Better contrast and indication of progress indicator to read download activity.
(Why it is not presented in Dark mode is another question for another time.)
The contrast issue has always been a problem with the previous UIs. The very light text on nearly very light background offered poor contrast to learn the progress of the download. With a lightly darkend bar behind the text, I feel someone heard our requests to make it easily readable. Also adding the progress circle indicatoor is a nice addition.
I know Wyze doesn’t follow this user-to-user forum that closely, but it would be great to let them know when they did something appreciated by the users, at least through my eyes.
