Not understanding the need for so many variations of scales. Especially here in the US.

Clearly no one is using scales here.

If you start selling Wyze Cheese Puffs Pro Ultrra(4k), then you are playing to the right market demographic.

It’s funny, because it’s true.

Eh…sorta.

I actually use my Scale S daily for myself and weekly for a couple of ginger felines and have been pleased with that in the years I’ve had it. I think the accuracy and battery life are good, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend that one. If I was going to switch to another Wyze scale, then this one probably wouldn’t be it for me, but that’s primarily because I’d be most interested by the Wi-Fi connectivity of the “Ultra” models.

Actually, the original Wyze Scale is what brought me to Wyze in the first place. I researched dozens of options for smart scales and Wyze had the best one overall. The other one that made it into the finals against the Wyze scale would only do down to 0.2lbs and that bugged me, plus their anchoring and measurement smoothing was kind of annoying compared to how Wyze processed theirs. That single scale device offer from Wyze led me to look at their cameras and I compared them against alternatives. That sucked me into the entire ecosystem as a huge power user. And it was all thanks to the Scale funneling me into their ecosystem, not their cameras.

I have since acquired every single Smart Scale they’ve released except for the Scale S. I have also tried others, but Wyze’s are superior. I especially love the Ultra Bodyscan scale. It is now my daily driver. I think the reason they launched this one though was to offer something similar but way more affordable for people who want a sub-$100 option that does close to the same thing as the Ultra. I’d actually been begging Wyze for years to make a smart scale with full body measurements using handlebars. I was extremely excited they finally did it.

You don’t see much engagement about the scales because there isn’t as much to talk about compared to camera use cases. Scales are pretty straight-forward.

But one big reason it’s smart for them to add other devices like scales is because they can act as a funnel. It was the Scale that brought me into Wyze, and now I have nearly every product they offer and subscriptions. I guarantee I’m not the only one.

I was using the ‘royal’ we/no one when making my sarcastic point. ‘Some’ of us are using scales. This is true.

‘Most’ of us are overweight and/or obese people in the US. Some statistics suggest it could be 70-75% of Americans.

6 scales in 6 years seems unnecessary but I could be totally wrong, maybe there is a strong market for full body scan scale???
