Injured Squirrel Looking for Food

I removed the bird feeding table to make it more natural for the birds.

I don’t think he’s injured. It looks like he has some sort of skin disease or something tried. to eat him and those are healing wounds.

Ok. I did think maybe something tried to get him from the missing fur. But I did n’t think the bumps were from that as well. Although, I hadn’t seen any of “my” squirrels with bumps like that before, so it’s quite possible. Once they get outside of the fencing, the neighbor’s cats will go after them.

From what I’ve seen cats are no match for squirrels.

I’ve only seen a cat go after them once. He was too quick and was able to run under the fence before the cat got to him. The cats don’t know they could get in if they slithered under it. But I’m not telling.

The detail of the fine fur at the end of the tail and around the fringe give it a semitransparent quality and almost make it look like some kind of visual effect. That’s pretty cool.

Yeah. I had to go back and look.

My 10 year old Golden Retriever loves to chase squirrels. He has fun but is not fast enough to catch them.

I put sunflower seeds in the tray for squirrels to keep them off the birdfeeders. It does a pretty good job. It was held in place by twist ties. It seems one of the ties came loose.

The squirrel got a little lesson in the law of gravity. LOL

Oops. I was throwing extra food out there for the squirrels too. After I get a new (upside-down U shaped) window a/c, I will use the top surface for the birds, so I can keep them fed thru the window.
