I would love to have a camera exactly like the Pan Cam but with a rechargeable battery pack like the outdoor battery cam. This would give serious freedom within the home!
The solar cam pan would do it, you just don’t need to hook up the solar panel, can use it for something else.
A USB battery bank on any of the standard wired pan cams would work too, obviously the larger the bank the less you’ll have to charge it. Nice thing about that setup is the cam doesn’t know it is being powered by battery and won’t have any of the limitations of a battery/solar cam (which has to conserve power).
the solar cam pan has to be mounted. What i like about the indoor pan cam is that it sits on its own and rotates. you can set it anywhere. if it had a battery pack, rather than hard wired, it could literally go anywhere.
I don’t have a solar cam pan and haven’t seen one in person but from the pictures it appears that if you don’t attach the solar panel, it should sit on the base fine. That assumes it has a 180 degree image rotate option, someone would need to confirm.
But like I mentioned, any of the wired ones with a USB battery pack would do what you’re looking for, could even use some double sided foam tape to mount it to the battery pack to give it better stability.
Given how much power the pan cams take, a small internal battery probably wouldn’t last very long, I’m assuming people wouldn’t be happy with it.
