I have Multiple devices that have different uses, but I dont want all the notifications the same on each one.
For example I have my Phone which I just want notifications for the Door bell,
then I have a Tablet that I want notification for my rear door camera and the warehouse camera detection. then I have another tablet that I want notification for door sensors.
If I enable notifications for the rear camera in my account, it enables that on my phone and my phone starts getting notification and so does they other tablet. Can we have the app have notification setting only apply to the device it is running on.
Unfortunately it is an account setting not a device setting. At the device level you can either turn them all on or all off.
You could have multiple accounts set up but then youād only be able to view those cams/sensors from the device with that particular account.
If interested, Alexa may be able to help you with this.
I have notifications from various Wyze devices going to specific Alexa devices & also iOS devices (my iPhone, iPads) based on criteria.
for example, if wyze back yard cam notice person, between 6am and 10pm message me on my iPhone, or iPad or Alexa deviceā¦
I can do similar for doorbell ā¦
Alexa devices have been reasonably low priced with various sales.
To get message to a specific iOS device, access Alexa routine setup from that device and it will be available.
I created these 2 Alexa routines in 2 minutes as examples. There are lots of options ā¦ lights on/off, change light colour, etc. and also āwait time optionā which is very helpful.
Echo Pop is about $25.
Didnāt know that was possible. Technically, every phone with the alexa app installed is an alexa device, wonder if it is possible to do without even buying anything or if that stuff only shows up once you have a traditional device associated.
interesting question. I do not know as I bought too many of them!!
they are also awesome as intercom between rooms/locations (drop in on Den, living room, kitchen, shed, garage, etc. ) and for music, etc, and open/close blinds; turn on/off AC, lights, Many of them also include āoptional presence sensorsā which can turn lights on/off if the option is used.
I avoided them for a few years and then got hooked!!
I set them up all over my momās house so she can call for help if needed, and she uses them for the morning news and setting reminders and all kinds of other stuff. I donāt have any myself so donāt know if it looks any different when there are no devices.
Yea. Thats why I want the suggestion to be granted. Also if you have cams in different locations. Like my wife has one of our camera at her business that she wants notifications separately on her phone. Both phones are logged into same account because sharing a device to another account drops 90% of the featuresā¦
If youāre making a feature request, post it in the wishlist forum, however many requests have been made regarding guest account improvements, so far havenāt seen any progress. They seem to be focused on new products and not new features.
Perhaps suggest a notifications at the ācam groupā level as that might accomplish what youāre looking for. Implementing separate notifications for every cam on each device would probably be a pretty big undertaking and be confusing to manage. Their model is currently that settings apply to a camera, not a viewing device. Thatās one of the issues with guest accounts, since the camera has one setting, the two accounts share (and in some cases can change it) which gets very confusing.
Iām not aware of any plans for this kind of granular notification management native to the app, but people have been doing this sort of thing for quite some time on Android systems using third-party apps that can intercept/parse notifications and execute actions based on those triggers (e.g., BuzzKill Notification Manager, MacroDroid, Tasker). Iāve played with this sort of thing a little with MacroDroid.
