I'm away (how do I know)

Have 3 V3 cams running for 2 years and my spouse asked me how do they know the system is armed when in Away? No subscriptions and recent firmware. Thanks !

What system and what is armed?
Can you view your cameras using Cell Data? I use iOS and I had to go into the phone setting and give the WYZE app permission to use cell data. I have viewed all of my camera in California while I was in New York using cell data only.

@campososolar - You stated no subscriptions, but you also used 2 words “armed” & “away” that is in Cam Protect a subscription monitoring service, but unavailable to you. @Antonius is correct, you would have to view cams using cell data if you can. Still should also get notifications for motion.

When I say armed I mean away. It works fine and triggers if someone or thing moves. Been this way for 2 years, Works great I view cameras fine and events are logged when I am away.

HOW DO I KNOW IT IS IN AWAY MODE ONCE IT IS SET ? Maybe I can’t know and that is fine. Just curious>

Are your talking about this? I never used home or away, maybe it is based on location information if you give the app permission to use your Location when using the app or always? Maybe you have to set it manually?

I use iOS:

Should have done this first and screenshot. I wish I saw what you have on your apple.

Go into Account at the bottom of the page then go into Rules and select History. It will show if your rule was successful or failed.

The screen shot I posted was from the monitoring tab, I am using Cam Unlimited and I have no rules set. This is my home page.

Thanks and yes I do have a few rules. This issue is not that big and as I am not paying for a service it is fine. The events work great. The folks on this forum are the best!

@Antonius - What you did a screenshot of from the monitor page is tied to the Cam Protect subscription which I have. It is attached to a camera you set up to monitor and alert you of motion activity and act as an alarm. You can disengage if the activity is not a threat or if so, the alarm will set in motion an alert to the proper authorities. Wyze will contact you before sending the alarm/alert out. The I’m away and I’m home are buttons to turn the monitoring on and off.

No you are wrong. I have not paid a dime to WYZE. I may someday. Let us wait for one of the moderators

Clarification - The “I’m Home” & “I’m Away” rule’s shortcuts are assigned to individual cameras at will and are not to be confused with Armed & Disarmed (Away/Home) Cam Protect activation & deactivation on the monitoring page set for a specific camera.

Sorry if my previous post led to confusion.

@campososolar - Sorry, not wrong. As I stated, I have the Cam Protect subscription. You are using rules shortcuts for your cameras that you see on the individual camera page that you turn on or off by the shortcut the camera, motion detection and notifications. And yes it does not cost you anything.

I believe a moderator will agree with this.

Really do not care who agrees, just wanted to know if there was a way I could tell that I was in away mode or home mode.

Thank-you Habib that works perfectly! Just tried it! Have a good day !

Glad to be off help!

Wyze 3.0 loaded without my knowledge. I am back to the same problem habib helped me with, How do I know the system is in away or home mode. The rules choice is no longer in my account with 3.0

Go into Account at the bottom of the page then go into Rules and select History. It will show if your rule was successful or failed.

In version 3.0 the Rules were renamed to Automations. Select the Automations tab and click on the House icon, that’s your history now.

Thank-you habib ! Works for me! pressing the arrow!

In your screenshot, what is the star by power-on? On mine I can turn them on and off but what do they do in the automations screen please!

Thanks again!

The star when it’s yellow means the rule/automation or a device will appear in the favourites/home tab.
