Having just survived some serious heat here in Portland OR, I noticed that my doorbell would go offline in the afternoons when the sun was beating down on my front door. Seems likely that was heat-related… so v2 could use some better heatsinks probably (also I’d say the doorbell should be able to gracefully reboot itself and reconnect to wifi without needing to be powercycled manually…)
This is why the doorbell needs a stronger attachment plate.
V2 of Wyze Doorbell Cam needs to:
- Have RTSP support like the V3 cams currently have in Beta
- Have an SD Card like a V3 Cam
- Work properly when displaying on a Amazon Echo Show (Sideways… not so functional)
@Shanee is a V2 camera in the works? or a concept that is just that…, and it’ll be years before V2 is available?

This is why one of my WCO’s sits in my front garden area pointed back at the front door. It sits at ground level, under a pile of rocks… Most folks don’t look down to and see it there. It’s about 10 to 15 feet from the front door.

I did not buy one bc it does not have an SD card…I like control of my data
I agree that the doorbell would be great with SD card BUT you can have a V3 above it for that option, it works great for me.
So you have a doorbell and a camera above that?
I have a pan cam instead of the Wyze doorbell; why buy 2?
Yes, I have the Wyze doorbell and Wyze cam V3 above it.
The non-doorbell cameras are just not a doorbell, Meaning it doesn’t have the button to to press for the chime sound. I like having everything digital/wifi connected.
I had a V3 showing my front porch once, but moved it when I got the doorbell. Shouldn’t have to have a separate device when the doorbell could have handled it all!
Would there be any security issues with having the reset button accessible from the bottom of the doorbell so that the doorbell doesn’t have to be removed when a reset is necessary?
Not sure if this has been covered. But for V1, V2 and future models in addition to a chime it would be helpful if you could have the chime say something descriptive. It doesn’t need to be text to speech but maybe a recording with a chimes. I have two doors with V1 and have selected different chimes… but can never remember what door is chiming
Suggested terms:
Front door
Side door
Back door
Rear door
Garage door
The new Wyze Viseo Doorbell Pro has better view angles then the original Video Doorbell but is only battery powered. I prefer a house powered system like the original or a combo house power and battery to avoid recharging. BUT most importantly I wish to see the camera improvements particularly the wider view angles from the Pro in the original Video Doorbell
@Semper0
The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is battery powered but can also be house wired, it has the option to do either.
Doorbell Continuous Recording
I see other doorbell cameras on the market that allow for continuous recording.
Since the doorbell camera has continuous power, it would be nice for it to also record continuously. Maybe integrate a SD card to allow this feature.
Thank you
[Mod Edit]: Your request was merged to this existing request since it involves product redesign or hardware enhancement by Wyze.
Add local storage to Wyze Doorbell Pro
Add microSD card capability to Wyze Doorbell. This way we can review videos the same way as the Wyze Cam V2/V3. I use that function regularly on the V2/V3 for outdoor application. I am OK if the unit get stolen and the videos go along with it. It will be the user’s choice to add a SD card.
I saw Wyze post a comment elsewhere giving the excuse the reason they don’t allow for an SD card is doorbell cams are prone to getting stolen. Then the thief has all your videos as well as your doorbell. But that would apply to any Wyze cam product that thief could reach up to steal. So, lame excuse. Wyze should give the customer the choice rather than trying to nanny/protect us from ourselves.
Wyze Doorbell with Dual Starlight Sensor Cameras - for Persons and Packages
The current “Pro” Doorbell is trying to use a single camera with an oblong (and distorted) image to show people and also try to show packages. This single camera also does not seem to use the starlight sensor found in the V3 wyze cam. I have started to see competitor products using 2 cameras, with one of them angled downward specifically for package view & detection. If wyze did this using their starlight sensor cameras, they might have product hardware deserving of the word “Pro” in the name. I also feel that this product should have an sd card slot.
DOORBELL NEEDS PLAYBACK!!!
PLEASE ADD SD CARD OPTION FOR VIDEO DOORBELL… Im a Wyze guy for all products. This is by far the biggest gripe I have with their stuff. I cannot playback video from my doorbell. Theres always instances that i want to see who pulled up in front of my house, or follow a strange guy after leaving my doorstep. Doorbell doest allow playback like a wyzecam does… I would think that would be a given when in the dev stages. Cmon Guys!! This should be an easy one…
Wyze needs to seriously upgrade their doorbell. I am a BIG Wyze fan. But after searching the reviews, I won’t even buy one.
Wyze needs to allow recording to an sd card which could be placed in the chime, which will avoid their reason of security if the camera is stolen.
Improve the quality of the audio.
Allow for change of the chime tones on iphone.
Improve the notification speed.
MicroSD card in the Chime… that’s a brilliant idea, if it can be implemented. Great idea for VDB Pro “Plus?”
Even more brilliant if an ‘upgraded’ chime can be purchased with this feature for existing VDB and VDB Pro.
I’d consider a VDB Pro then…
Then there’s the whole lack of RTSP that I find hard to ignore…, which makes competing products still at the top of my replacement list when my VDB fails
