I love Wyze products, but why is there not a battery operated doorbell that can record locally?

I think the consensus is that the doorbell with its local storage is a magnet for theft.

Thanks for the reply. The same concern would be with the V2. I think the deterrence for the v2 is that it can be local or cloud. All I’m looking for is a v2 but battery operated. I’m just surprised Wyze doesn’t have it after all the years of getting beat by Ring in this area.

I have the doorbell but I’m afraid I have an under-powered transformer in the attic. Ordered it before the transformer issue came out.

Edit: But why a V2? Amazon currently is advertising $20 V3.

The doorbell v2 was released pretty recently, and was the first one with an SD card slot. Since people have been requesting SD card compatibility since the other doorbells came out, I would imagine a future generation of battery powered doorbells could have an SD card slot. I hope they do!

They did it. They released the CAM duo doorbell on 10/21/2024.
