How to Turn Off Battery-Operated Cameras in app v3?!?!

It was easy in previous versions, and some powered cameras have an on/off switch in the preview image, but others do NOT…including the battery cameras.

I need to turn them off when there’s known activity to save battery.

EDIT: Now the cameras that previously had on/off switches no longer do!

App 2.x and 3.x are the same. Not sure what cam model you have. Wyze Cam Outdoor v1 and v2, when on the live stream page, tap “More” icon to the right under the stream, then tap “Turn Off”. Battery Cam Pro, when on the live stream page, swipe the control bar under the stream to the left, then tap “Turn Off”.

Edit: Thank you for clarifying. There is no on/off icon for single battery cams in Favorites under 3.x. Perhaps Wyze will add it. Personally, I’d like to see it removed at the top-level. We also have a wishlist topic requesting removal.

App v3.0 is VERY different from v2.x! I have several original Wyze Cams Outdoor. The problems with the new version are:

  • it does not retain the last-reported battery level when camera is offline, which is critical!
  • there is no on/off “switch” (unless/until you show the live feed, and sometimes not even then!)
  • the thumbnail shows an outdated image, even though I’ve powered it several times

Why would you want to remove the switch?

I don’t want to remove the switch. It’s not my app, I don’t work for Wyze. But the on/off switch exists under both 2.50 and 3.0. Under 3.0, it’s on devices located in Favorites, whether single device or device groups.
