How to set up your WyzeCam

I got the Wyzecam to read the code by taking a picture of it and then transferring it to my computer. Now my problem is it won’t connect to my network.

Hola mi wyze cam v2 no se conecta a mi Android solo a un teléfono celular iPhone que puedo hacer por favor

Just got a v2 cam yesterday, going to try it out today. Thanks for detailed info and all the troubleshooting for setting up.

I have the same question, there seem to be different options of SD cards, it’s a bit confusing. Is there a help or faq topic about this?

I get to the QR code, It scans it, then is continuously connecting until it times out. Over and over and over again. What to do??

I have had a problem connection with the QR codes. I think that my phone is on the same network but I have a duel 5k and a 2.4. my phone was connected to the fastest one 5k and the WYZE can only do 2.4. If you go to set up on your phone and set it up for the 2.4 then Scan the QR everything will work out.

After numerous attempts, putting the camera away, trying again another time, today I read here to plug your camera into the USB port on your router, going through setup again… SETUP IS COMPLETE… Now to see if my camera actually works.

In case anyone has a Chinese one like I realised mine is, there is hope.
I bought a camera advertised as Wyze but it is not.
If you download the Xiaomi app and enter your location as Mainland China everything works.

Have to be careful with that, lots of fakes out there. That tends to happen when something gets popular. I only buy direct from WYZE, WYZE via Amazon or from Home Depot. I hear MicroCenter also sells official WYZE.

Most of these post are old not sure why but I also have both 2.4 and 5 you want to run depending on the device. They actually do not 'run" at the same time. The purpose is to designate devices such as-- I have my smart TV on 5g streaming speed, printer on 2.4, Mac Pro laptop 5, iphone on 5 because I stream movies. The Wyze cam is suggested at 2.4 or my reading of it. Okay so 2.4 is about range and 5 is about speed. Now for my problem. My cam is a steady blue light after resetting for new WIFI. I set it at 2.4. Nothing shows up on the app… I did everything by instruction more than 3 times… then I contacted “support” that is just bouncing back FAQ’s. I am here for help.

Hi, New User here. What is this card and where do I get one?

Hi, @VikingNeil. Welcome to the community! I assume you are asking about the microSD card? If you need a SD card for your Wyze cam, you can order a 32 GB card through the Wyze app or Wyze.com. Also, available in most stores like Walmart, Target, or Amazon.

I have an Orbi mesh system; and my phones do not allow me to force them to 2.4-GHz … so here is what you do.

Find a location where your mesh system is weak (if you wish, you can unplug your satellite and then you will very easily find a weak area – when you are done just plug the satellites back in and after a few minutes they should be back to normal). At that weak location (to find it I suggest you download a free wifi signal reader to your phone) your phone will shift from 5-GHz to 2.4-GHz … plug in the Wyze and do the installation from there. Then move your Wyze camera to where you want to have it run.
Once the Wyze is running, then you can operate the system from the Wyze app on your phone even though your phone may then be on 5-GHz.

Thanks for your post on this one as I have the exact same issue and setup. If only Netgrear would allow for split networks (2.4 and 5). Alternatively, it would be great if Wyze would allow for a Bluetooth connection that then transfers the network setup.

I’m a new Wyze V2 owner and not very tech. I’m paying the 1.99 mo for Apple - isn’t that to store my videos or do you suggest getting the SD card? Can you explain the difference or is there a tutorial? Any help would be appreciated.

Monthly CamPlus service stores event clips in the cloud.

in conjunction with setting the app to record continuously, continuous recording would be made to the SD card. If you someday remove the SD card from the camera and insert it in your computer you would find a large number of 1 minute recordings organized in folders by year, month, day, hour. Continuous recording actually is a compilation of many one minute clips which constitute continuous recording. I always put a 32 gig card in my camera.

I just got the Wyze Cam V4. I have plenty of micro sd 128 cards, and was planning to use this basically to record, and I thought I could live stream without cloud storage or paying a monthly service fee. Is that correct?

Yes. I have been doing this for a few years without subscription.

Thank you, and you can monitor online in real-time, just not record to the cloud?
