I believe it’s possible to set things up so I get a notification on my phone when a camera detects a specific thing (“package detected at front door” is what I’m hoping to do), but I can’t figure out how to do this.
Specific detections can be seen under “Events”, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to specify an alert for detection of X at camera Y. “Notifications” are enabled at the both camera level and the app level. I looked at “Rules”, but that doesn’t seem to be it.
Is this possible? If so, is there a “how to” guide somewhere?
Thanks. I figured out what I was missing.
I needed to tap the little bell icon on the home screen so it’s un-crossed. I guess this is a global “mute”?
So, in case it helps someone else:
- Enable notifications for the Wyze App in Android (I assume there’s something similar if you have an iPhone),
- Enable notifications in the Wyze app (ie the “bell” should not have a line through it. If it does, press to toggle it).
- Under device settings, enable notifications for the camera you want an alert from.
- Underneath the notifications slider, check the box(es) for the notification events you want to get a phone alert for.
I was just missing step 2. Now I know what that little bell is for!
I just confirmed that the “package at front door” alert works.
Happy to hear your figured the Bell out.
