How to separate Battery Video Doorbell from Back Plate

I don’t see a way to start a new question, but here it goes. I have the backing on, but can’t take it off. What’s the trick?

If you have Battery Video Doorbell attached to its Back Plate, then you should be able to separate the two by inserting the Doorbell Detaching Pin (or a paperclip) into the hole in the top of the Battery Video Doorbell. Press down on the pin while trying to pull the top of the doorbell camera away from the plate in a rocking motion, as if the doorbell is hinged to the bottom of the plate, and then lift it up and off.

This should be illustrated in the Quick Start Guide.
