Wyze used to have an FTP server on the camera itself. i don’t know why they removed it.

It seemed to go away around the same time as RTSP from what I understand. I think we know why both got removed 
There is a wishlist item to restore some sort of functionality like that (if not an FTP, then samba type share). I suspect it won’t gain traction, has been lingering for a long time.
Supposedly the mini hacks on v3 still works for remote root access to the cam so SFTP might still work, but it seems those hacks days are numbered, they caused a lot of issues for people with one of the recent firmware updates and seem to be interfering with the LED operation making it always be red, etc. Not something I’d personally want to run (nor is it supported on the OG anyway).

That would have been great. Move the files from Wyze local storage to own cloud location and then worry about trimming, saving, deleting, etc. while the card remains available all the time.
