Group Notifications

Is there a way to set different notifications for separate groups?

I have cameras a different locations and I don’t want the same level of notification for each

Welcome to the Forum, @Justme1!

I’m not sure what you mean by “level of notification”. How could you expand on your idea with greater detail about what you want to achieve?

A couple of Wishlist topics come to mind regarding what may be similar requests:

Since you tagged yourself as an Android user, you can also use third-party apps with the ability to intercept notifications (such as BuzzKill, MacroDroid, and Tasker) and use those to trigger different alert sounds for each camera (for instance) or do other things based on information in a given notification. I think that native Wyze app support for some of the features that others have requested would be a better solution, though, (especially if it can extend to iOS users), and I’d personally really like to see Wyze make better use of Android notification channels (instead of having multiple channels called “WyzeMessage”).

@Crease, Thanks for the response. I have tasker so I’ll look into working out a way to adjust notifications via it’s use.

To expand on what I’m trying to achieve… I have access to cameras at multiple homes. I have these cameras set up in different groups. At location B, I only want to be notified if the door bell rings. I don’t care to be pinged every time there is motion at location B. While at location A I want all notifications. I used to have Ring camera’s at 1 one location and I was able to enable/notification by individual camera. Not sure if I had groups in that app but I was able to achieve what I wanted.

Issue I’m having now is I’m getting notifications for things I don’t necessarily care about so I’m starting to ignore or mute for long periods.

I haven’t used Tasker but have played around with MacroDroid a little and used it to parse Wyze notifications in order to play specific sounds for specific cameras, so that sort of thing is definitely doable with a third-party app, but it’d be even better if Wyze would do something like that within the app itself. Based on what you’re describing—and I appreciate the additional detail—I think it’d be cool if users could select group-specific (and not just device-specific) notifications for things like camera groups within the app. I haven’t ever seen that specifically requested, though.

I have Tasker Pro but have not used in a long time. MacroDroid looks a bit more user friendly so downloaded and I’m going to try to parse notifications with it.

It took me some trial and error to get done what I wanted. I went into a little detail of things that have worked for me in this topic when replying to another user:

I haven’t read this entire topic, so I don’t know how dated it might be:

hello @Crease
This is absolutely AWESOME—thanks for sharing your video!

By any chance, have you uploaded this to the MacroDroid Template Cloud? If so, what’s the template name? If not, could you replace your SMS phone number with a generic one and share it?

I’ve been trying multiple ways to get this working again.

For example, I have mine set to detect Person Detected in Front Yard, but when mine triggers, it keeps repeating over and over.

I don’t recall sharing a video, and I haven’t updated anything to MacroDroid. I’m kinda confused by your post here.

Maybe we should resume the discussion in your original topic or start a new one? I don’t think what you’re requesting has anything to do with groups, and I’d like to avoid derailing @Justme1’s topic.

Sorry for the confusion, your current Marcro that you posted, can you upload it to the Macro templates? This way I can download and it and change it with my settings to see if it works the same

No apology is necessary, but I think perhaps you’re still confused. I haven’t posted anything resembling a macro recently. The most recent and detailed posts I’ve done related to MacroDroid are all back in the topic that you initiated back in November, which I linked to above.
