I would love to see a garage door keypad that integrates with the Wyze garage door system so we could give temporary codes to someone to access the garage, say to deliver a package or let someone in. We aren’t always around to log in and open and close the garage door from our phone or iPad.
I believe the garage door system is literally just a box that simulates you pushing the button (wired in parallel to the other buttons), if so below should be accurate. If not ignore it.
You just need a keypad that is compatible with your system (which if the wyze box works with it, should be most of the keypads out there). As far as the Wyze system is concerned it would be just like you pushed the regular button in the garage or on the remote in your car. There are two kinds of keypads, one is totally wireless and you pair it to the door just like the remote in your car, another is hardwired and you wire it up like any other button. Either should work. You can then program whatever code you want into it. When the door opens, wyze should see that the QR has moved and know the door is open.
I’m wondering if someone has made one that you can program remotely (connects to your wifi so you can easily change and manage codes). Seems like someone must have thought of that by now, but who knows.
