Mine went nuts today, similar to SweetSVT99. Multiple open/close notifications without the door moving. Got the first pair and thought “What the heck” and went to the garage to see what was going on. Got another pair of notifications while I was standing there looking at a closed door.
I’m afraid it will actually open the door when I’m away though, so I’ve unplugged it for now. Have not had it installed for long, but it’s not a good start – don’t trust the device right now.
I will try moving the camera closer to the target and see if that helps, but for now I’ll only plug it in when I’m at home. Sort of defeats the purpose of this thing.
If anyone hears back from Wyze on a fix - please post.
Speaking of bugs, I’ve had similar open/close false alarms in the middle of the night. A review of the video Playback shows that a bug of some kind, probably attracted by the IR light and or warmth, has made its way in front of the camera lens, temporarily blocking the cameras sight of the QR code. I’ve since sprayed a bug surface spray around the camera and it hasn’t been an issue since. Might be worth checking and doing to rule that out. Another thing to do, for those that are worried about actual opening at night, is to put a timer on your garage door power, that turns it off whilst you sleep. I use a wifi timer with app, that allows me to set a schedule for on/off each day, and importantly allows me to power it on from outside the house if I return at night after the schedule has turned it off, and I want to enter via the garage door.
