Frame rate dropped to 1/3fps

Hello everyone,

I have 2 wyze cam v1 set up in my baby’s room as a monitor. I recently started getting 3 sec skip (delay) during live feed after app update. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Hey t.bang

The forum moderators moved your separate post to this existing Topic:

It now exists as one of the last comments to that Topic.

Peruse the Topic original post (OP) and sixty some comments and if you have any questions after that post-em up in another comment.

Hi, folks!

I’ve been chasing logs for Wyze Cam v1 streaming not being smooth. If you’re experiencing this, please send a log through Account > Help & Feedback and then post your log number so I can attach it to our dev ticket. Sorry for the trouble!

I have a camera I haven’t updated yet. I can tell you 100% the firmware is the issue and the camera will not update to the 2020 V1 firmare via the application. You can manually force it though.

3.9.4.32 fixed the Live Streaming lag, what left unfixed and still laggy is the View Playback
My submitted log is 22562

Thanks, folks! I added these logs to the list.

I am experiencing a 3 second lag on my version 1 cameras while live-streaming. Version 2 camera is fluid during a livestream. Performance has been tested using WiFi and LTE without any improvement. Is this a firmware issue?

I don’t have any v1 cams. I’d think it would be a firmware issue.

Wyze engineers broke something but have not yet admitted it - they appear to have crippled functionality for many V1 users with exactly your symptom. See

Thank you. I had a feeling this issue is on them to fix.

Brady, and/or anyone else…

Hi, can I ask a question? I access this Forum strictly from a laptop so I may be seeing things quite differently than some people.

Are you viewing this Forum from within the Wyze app on a phone? If so, can you take a screenshot of the landing screen (first thing you see) when you access this Topic?

Thanks! -peep

It looks pretty much the same!

P.S. I’d move this to a different topic!

Ah, I think maybe I figured it out (just oiled the hamster wheel, gave little Chuckie some pellets  )

I think the moderators are consolidating this issue by moving posts into this one that have been established separately on the forum, but without any sign in the comment where it appears here now, that that is what has occurred.

So, to me, I despair, because it looks like people are arriving at a Topic with a title that seems to address their problem, and asking a question that suggests they haven’t taken the time to read any of the existing thread.

If so, maybe the moderators can insert a little notation: Separate Topic Moved Here To Consolidate Inquiries and Response. Or such like. :-).

Thanks, Brady!

Things have been getting moved here due to this being the thread that WYZE is actively watching for information. So yes you are correct other threads are being added in here.

Have since opened a ticket and log file. Hope the devs can correct the problem that appears to have been caused by an update.

I manually upgraded to Firmware Version 3.9.4.32 from the previous Version 3.9.4.16. Fixed the LiveStream, but Playback still lagging, one frame every 3 seconds. Also, notifications stopped working after upgrading, and overall stability has also degraded. Have to power cycle camera once per day now after upgrade. I can see why Version 3.9.4.32 is not included in the “Update firmware” feature in the app. Looks like Wyze has more work to do.

Indeed.

Same issue here with v1 and choppy video. Thanks for all the posts, I spent the past 2hrs messing with all my network settings before reading this forum. I will try a manual fw update in the morning, Cheers!
