I have just bought a Duo Cam doorbell, and unfortunately there seems to be no way to adjust the loudness of its chime in the settings. I can adjust the chime on my cameras and the separate chime unit, but not the doorbell itself.
Is this just me or this chime is prohibitively loud for use in quiet apartment buildings?
Any help is appreciated.
If anybody knows this FR exists already and there is planned work, or it’s not on the wishlist, let me know.
Can you turn it off? I don’t have a Duo Cam Doorbell, but if I navigate into the settings of my Video Doorbell v2 I have Settings ➜ Advanced Settings ➜ Doorbell Ring Sound . Does Duo Cam Doorbell have a similar setting? If so, then that might be what you want to do with this mounted at a door to an apartment hallway.
Regarding existing Wishlist topics, the potentially relevant item I see is this:
It’s targeting earlier Wyze doorbell models and predates Duo Cam Doorbell, but maybe the tags should be expanded to be more inclusive for all doorbell products. I’m tagging the @Mods to bring this to their attention in case they think the topic tags should be adjusted.
Thanks for asking about the Wishlist! Remember for topics that you want to support to click or tap the Vote button above the initial post and then share your ideas and use cases in the comments.
No apology is necessary, though I appreciate the thought.
I see that you voted on that Wishlist topic, but that topic still doesn’t include Duo Cam Doorbell in its tags. That might be a tag limit issue. I flagged it for the Moderators, because if Duo Cam Doorbell doesn’t already have this feature then it should be added to the list to make that topic more inclusive.
Assuming you are using the WiFi Chime with the Duo Doorbell, you can adjust the Volume from the settings area of the Duo Doorbell. This can be found here:
I think the request is to have the ability to reduce the volume of the sound that emanates from the doorbell camera unit itself—what someone pressing the button hears at the button’s location—because it’s mounted in the interior hallway of an apartment building. I think @vitya wants to lower (or possibly even mute) the volume as a courtesy to neighbors.
That’s what I think, yeah. Like I said, on Video Doorbell v2 there’s an option to toggle that off (which I can’t test at the moment because mine’s currently disconnected), but I don’t have a Duo Cam Doorbell so can only speculate about a similar feature—which apparently it doesn’t have. That’s why I directed @vitya to the Wishlist topic I linked above.
