First Version Bulb and V3 Camera Synching Rules

I have a weird one. I just installed my V1 bulb and it keeps coming on around sunset even though I have that rule disabled. I also have a V3 camera which is about 6 feet from the bulb (not sure that matters). They somehow have synched up their sunrise to sunset rules. If I activate the sunrise to sunset rule on the bulb, it also activates it on the V3 camera. If I disable it on the camera, it disables it on the bulb. What I need is for it to be deactivated on the bulb and activated on the camera. Does anybody have any idea what the heck is going on as well as whet the fix might be?

@timw61 Have you contacted Customer Support (206) 339-9646 Monday - Friday 5 am - 6 pm PT and Saturday 8 am - 4 pm PT about this? They will probably have you submit a log. We don’t have the ability to see or analyze logs here on the forum.

If you don’t get good help on this, please post the support ticket number here and one of the Mavens or Mods will try to flag it for further review.

I have not yet. I figured I would ask the crowd if they ran into this issue first, then I’ll go to the pros

I had to completely punt my V1 Bulbs. I changed to all Color Bulbs and that solved all automation and lighting rules. There were just so many oddities with the V1 Bulbs (not all of them, some still work).

I have 13 Color Bulbs now. All the triggers work using the bulbs (except Person Detection trigger on Pro Doorbell Pro … it doesn’t work at all). But GeoFence Rules, Shortcuts, Motion/Door Rules, V3 Person Detection Rules work… They all are working pretty flawlessly with the Color Bulbs. I have no issues of lights not working properly. I have the new Wall Switches… The Thermostat… many v1 Door/Motion sensors, v2 Door/Motion sensors… I use it all to trigger a LOT of things with the bulbs.

I only want Color Bulbs now. I’m ready for V2 Color (now with more Lumes!).


Thanks. I removed the bulb from the app and I’m still having issues between the V3 can and the Pan cam. I submitted a log ticket last evening. The person I spoke with on the phone was clueless. Hopefully the one looking at the ticket will be knowledgeable.

I have submitted two logs now. They are 457772 and 463591. This issue is really bugging me. I guess I’ll take Earl’s fix and throw the bulb away.
