Can not update my OG telephoto, I got a replacement from AMZ and it is the same issue
FAILED TO UPDATE,
I was able to update all my Cam V4 no problem
Cam OG Telephoto 1.0.63-to-1.0.98 firmware update
Is there a solution ?
I have exactly the same problem with one of my 2 Wyze Cam OG Telephoto 3x.
The older one has been updated to the latest 1.0.98 firmware successfully a month ago. The newly purchased one (from amazon.ca) came with firmware 1.0.63 and it failed to upgrade in exactly the same way as described by other users.
I have also tried everything:
Restart camera, power cycle, factory reset, switch to a different router, upgrade the Wyze app (already the latest version), log out of the app and restart everything again ā¦ etc.
Usually it fails with the error code: -13, but once in a while it will give IV20005 (something like that)
Eventually, Wyze customer service sent me a replacement which arrived today. Unfortunately, this new unit also comes with 1.0.63 and it failed to update its firmware in exactly the same way.
I understand that other Wyze Cam models could manually update the firmware by putting a firmware binary on an SD card and then with a special power-up gesture (holding the Setup button?) the unit could install the firmware on the SD card. Is it possible to manually flash the firmware with the OG telephoto 3x?

I completely understand your concern regarding the firmware upgrade issues youāre experiencing with both your Wyze Cam OG Telephoto cameras.
Weāve received similar reports from other customers, and our team is actively investigating the matter. At this point, weāve escalated the issue to our Engineering Team to determine whether this is a widespread issue or one thatās isolated to certain batches or conditions.

Lovely. Thanks for posting. I just received my brand new telephoto 3x with v 1.0.63 (ordered through Amazon). ā¦ Iāve wasted a bunch of time troubleshooting my update failed. Your post is very helpful for guiding my next steps. Thanks!

Wyze is send me a new OG tele and they said to keep the old one
Customer service is pretty good
The camera works fine as it is, but it would ne nice to get it updated
I have 6 cameras on my dock and they work well, cant beat the price

Breaking News: My OG Telephotos cameras have now had their firmware upgraded from 1.0.63 to 1.0.95. Will take 3-4 updates to get the latest one. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor. None of the firmware versions are listed in the official list of firmwares. What is going on wyze?

I updated my OG Tele this AM
Now running 1.0.84
For under $30 it is a nice camera
I wonder what it would cost to build that camera here in the USA

Iām not sure why the update isnāt getting you all the way to 1.0.98, but they have said at other times previously that they do slow roll-outs of firmware, so maybe this oneās just taking longer. Thanks for reporting some success! 
I canāt speak for Wyze, but I know in the past some things have missed getting to the Release Notes & Firmware page. For instance, right now Iām looking at the Firmware Update screen in the app and seeing my Bulb Color (BR30) sitting on firmware 1.0.1.51 with 1.0.1.56 available and Bulb Color v2s on firmware 1.0.2.51 but being offered 1.0.2.56. The only official announcements for those numbers that Iāve seen on the Forum have been in a firmware Ī² test topic, so I can only surmise that theyāve graduated to production without an announcement. 
I wonder if other firmware versions you saw while stepping through updates were also betas that had maybe been released to production without official announcements to that effect: 1.0.92, 1.0.94, 1.0.95. Firmware version 1.0.98 had its own beta topic before this production release, too.
Thatās what the app is offering me, because mine is still on 1.0.80.

I would like to report here that my OG Tele has also successfully been updated from 1.0.63 to 1.0.71 then 1.0.84 just now. Thanks to the Wyze engineers for the fix and all other users for their reports that made it happen!
Update: A few hours after my OG Teleās updated to 1.0.84, 1.0.98 became available and now they are all running the latest version! Thanks!
