Firmware update - screwed-up my system

My cameras have been disconnecting sporadically since I installed the new firmware this morning (09/17/2025) ‘WYZE BULB CAM. Anyone have any idea WHY?

I think this is the reason for the phased firmware rollout; to minimize the damage.

With Wyze every update to fix something breaks something else

Welcome to the Forum, @ddeadpool880!

Some more detail about your experience might be helpful. Since you mentioned “cameras” (plural), I’m wondering if you’re having problems with Bulb Cam only or if you have other Wyze Cams that are exhibiting problems now.

Specifics can be helpful in understanding your problem, as well. For instance, did the problems begin occurring only after installing the 21.1.3.0897 Bulb Cam firmware? Did the update complete successfully?

Also, what did Support say when you submitted a log and contacted them?

For whatever it’s worth, I haven’t yet tried updating this particular firmware version (I haven’t specifically checked to see if it’s even offered to me yet), but because of last year’s experience with a Video Doorbell v2 update I tend to watch things like the announcement topic for this version for at least a few days to see what problems are being reported prior to updating my own devices. That doesn’t really help your immediate situation, but it’s something you may want to consider in the future, and that topic might be a good one to track and share comments in because it’s in the Wyze News category and was created by a Wyze Team member, so I think they’re more likely to key into problems if they see them reported there.

Suggested next steps, though, would be contacting Support (if you haven’t already) and sharing more details here to help other community members understand the problem.
