Feature Request - Once you have a package delivered it would be nice to be able to confirm it in the app so Wyze will stop sending push notifications about it.
I have the Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell and I noticed that when a package is delivered at my front door the motion sensor keeps notifying me every few minutes that there is a package at the door. I would try to turn down the sensitivity but I feel like it defeats the purpose of the motion sensor in the first place.
You can post feature requests in the “wishlist” forum, however I think what is happening is your doorbell is sensing other motion somewhere in the detection area, and when that happens it analyzes it, sees the package, and notifies you of the package. It doesn’t know or care that the package was there before, each event is a new, unrelated analysis. That’s just how their “AI” works, each motion event gets analyzed and whatever is in the frame can alert you. Same happens when you have a parked car in view and someone walks by (or a tree branch moves, etc).
If you can eliminate that extraneous motion from the field of view using detection zone and/or sensitivity, it should stop the repeated alerts.
100% agree this is super annoying and forced me to turn off package detection because of it which is very unfortunate for a doorbell with the second camera designed for this exact detection. And while i agree with dave27 on the motion being the reason of the re trigger its almost impossible to eliminate the motion because its front facing doorbell, trees cars, people pass the house constantly.
They can take a page from Eufy’s playbook to solve this. Eufy will tag/track the package so it wont re-notify if it hasnt moved (also highlights the package in live view). It also shows you stats like delivery time and pickup reminders if its bed time.
@M1st did you already submit a feature request for this? If yes post the link and ill vote for it. If not ill submit one.
Thank you both, while I agree all around I will add that removing extraneous motion, turning off package detection or adjusting motion alerts does defeat the purpose of having a the device.
@jswoboda1@dave27 Where can I find submit a feature request? I will submit the following. Please let me know if you can think of other ways this could be implemented.
Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell to either -
Recognize once a package is delivered and only notify once
Recognize once a package is delivered, notify, and confirm with user so further notifications are paused for that package.
Sorry i misspoke slightly. Its not a feature request. It needs to be submitted in the Wishlist section of this forum. Probably under the AI section??? Here is a screenshot you can use to help if you want, i dont have my eufy powered up at the moment but amazon has a stock photo. Notice the blue highlight on the package. That stays there until the package moves, one so the camera is aware but it gives the user info like delivery time and an event link.
@M1st didnt see this until now, This is the same symptom but a bug around motion zones not stopping it. Motion zones wont fix every scenario but if this is ever fixed it could help if you have the right front porch angle. Thought i would share just in case.
Great feedback! I guess it would be helpful to know if someone or something else has moved the verses not helpful to be notified when I have gone outside to get the package.
@OON7 ’s comment is constant with what we are discussing, however consistently more annoying considering his doormat is triggering the alerts.
I currently do not have user permissions to add a wish list item. Could one of you add it and tag me/a link to this thread?
I believe the detection zone issue was actually that it enabled sound detections when you’re using the detection zone thus resulting in lots of extra detections. I can’t recall if they fixed that or if anyone found a workaround.
If not then I guess detection zone isn’t a good solution.
