Hello it’s June 18 and I am finding out this now after I already bought 4 sd cards and I am having a hard time finding what was recorded or doing the playbacks? What’s going on ? Also the pricing for subscriptions has gone up? So do I have to get this higher prices subscription ? I’m not sure what’s going on now ?
Just use the SD cards they work perfect. Don’t waste your money on their subscriptions.
I have 8 v3 cameras all outside all with 128 sd cards installed. The playback works perfect just make sure you have the cameras set to Continuous. The day WYZE take away the full functions of the SD card for playback myself and 1000s of other users will dump their cameras. If you don’t need or want their worthless subscriptions you shouldn’t be forced to waste your money on them for basic camera functions. Hope this helps…
Just bought my first v4 and saw you need a subscription for person detection and notifications. Good bye wyze it’s been a great run, hello tp link tapco. Will keep wyze just for smart lights.

I totally agree. If WYZE takes away the ability to use an SD card and do continuous recording and playback I will dump them immediately and I think most others will do the same. Nobody wants their worthless CamPlus that most people don’t need. The SD card offers all the backup most people need. WYZE seems more focused on selling their subscriptions than the quality and support of their products. I have been with them since day one and the company has gone downhill ever since dumping as many substandard worthless products as they can. Now their primary focus is selling their over priced worthless subscriptions instead of focusing on the quality of their products and supporting them.

My v4 cameras just came in the mail from Amazon, and now, 2 hours later, I have to send them back. Like many others, I want to be able to see a video thumbnail and watch it easily. I paid for the cameras and paid for the SD cards. Why make it so difficult to find and watch the videos? Wyze should now be called unWyze.

Good I thought it was just me. It does suck though. It’s Feb 2025 for me and I’ve been trying to trouble shoot the last few months. When I first got the v3 I was able to just use the ss card and view continuous recordings on it. Now it stopped recognizing the card. I bought the subscription until I could figure it out, now it suddenly recognizes my sd card and have the continuous recording back. So annoying. I wouldn’t have bought the card

Well, I went on quite a rant about paying for upgraded service when I have the SD card, but I went ahead and purchased the Cam Plus plan for my 3 cameras since it’s not that expensive. The main reason is that the camera’s and detection settings are really great. After about 5 days of usage, the camera has performed perfectly day and night with no false recordings. Everything is great - thumbnails, notifications, identification of triggers, etc. One negative is that we have to wait until our original iOS plan expires next month before we can add the other 2 camera to it. We had purchased that plan last year for an older indoor camera we had.
