Duo cam pan mount fitting holes drilled for pan cam 3

Will the Duo Cam Pan mounting bracket align with the same drilled holes for the Pan Cam 3?

I had the same question. I have a Pan Cam 3 and the mounting holes are horizontally aligned one next to the other. I eventually bought a Duo cam pan and the mounting holes are diagonal at a 45 degree angle to one another. So the short answer is no, The mounting hole are different between the 2 cameras.

Thanks for the response.

Do you think the duo would be secured enough with re-using just one of the previous mounting holes? We live in my daughter’s house and she dislikes additional holes.

How do you like the duo?

It all depends upon your mounting situation. The diagonal holes are for an offset block to space the cam away from the wall, so that fixed cam can be positioned for the best view. The offset block will cover the existing holes even if you choose to re-use one of them.

I like wider view range. So far, I just have 2 of them, each mounted along the middle of the North and East sides of the house. But corner mounting is also an option. The higher resolution only seems moderately better, but you must remember to view them on a device with the same or higher resolution as the cam to notice. You must also use the Wyze app to view them, because the Tiny cam pro app still has not been updated to work with them yet.

I’ve brought this up in the wish list section before, as this is dumb. There is no reason to have a bunch of a different bolt patterns.

Anyways, I swapped between their door bells, and I ended up just drilling two new holes in their mounting bracket to match the “old” holes and the original mounting pattern. No new holes, and I can go back to the other model easily if I wanted. I’d be willing to bet if you get creative you can come up with a way to adapter to the original mounting holes.

I’m not sure how their doorbells are mounted. But the holes in the offset block for the cam are recessed, so drilling new ones is not really an option. I do agree however that there should be a universal mounting pattern used for all cams.

Perhaps an adapter (homemade) to go from the old pattern to the new would be the solution? It seems a small piece with three holes in it would solve this?
