It worked ok for the first 2 weeks, then the sensitivity to motion decreased. Ultimately would only trigger to within 2 feet. It also would record to the cloud, but only intermittently to the SD card. I only do wired systems, so there’s no issue with the battery being the root problem.
I find that this happens every now and then, and it’s not limited to the doorbells. I think Wyze is tinkering with back end regularly and that’s what happens.
It was constant with my unit, rendering it useless.
Anyone having detection issues lately?
My wired DBD is placed on the wall with the included wedge piece. The continuous 24/7 video recording shows movement in the peripherals and motion tagging works (the boxes identify people), but I do not get notifications until I am directly in line with the doorbell. This has caused me to miss out on some package drops that were off to the side (still in clear view on the recording).
With motion detection warning turned on, I only get warnings when directly perpendicular to the DBD (and only then will I get notified). Turning the motion sensitivity to max (10) doesn’t seem to affect anything.
Any guess as to why the motion tagging be working as seen in videos, but no notifications be sending? All detection settings are turned on (pets, packages, people, other motion).
Are you missing notifications or events or both? In other words, even though you’re missing notifications, do you still see what you expect to see on the Events tab?
What troubleshooting have you done? Do the Restart and/or Reset buttons in Settings have any apparent effect?
I have done both the reset and restart with no effect.
These instances do not appear on the event tab (I have continuous recording enabled though, so am still able to find the missing event)
For example, the event below was not recorded, even though the motion tag worked. No notifications. If I loiter around a little longer on screen or move more in line with the DBD (to the right of the picture, the event is correctly recorded). However, if I pretend to drop off a package quickly slightly off center of the screen, nothing gets recorded.
For now, I thankfully have extra layers of redundancy, so not too concerned about this whole thing. Pressing the actual DBD button correctly triggers the VOIP. Just the triggers/notifications without pressing the DBD are in question.
I’m puzzled by this, too, but thank you for confirming the Restart/Reset situation. That stinks that neither of those operations fixed this for you, but I didn’t want to assume what you had or hadn’t tried.
