Digi-Mister Humidifier for Wyze TStat?

Hello - I am looking to add a humidifier to my whole-house HVAC system, I already have a working Wyze Tstat - and I am looking to add a Digi-Mister DM530 humidifier - it is small and uses nozzles to spray mist into the duct work - not like the AprilAire that still uses a water pad. Anyway, has anyone had any luck connecting a humidifier to the Wyze Tstat? I understans there is the STAR terminal, but I haven’t looked into it too closely - I was more concerned about finding a small unit like the DigiMister that didn’t require cutting a huge hole in my ductwork and space is limited in my HVAC system.

Anyone have any experience adding on a Humidifier onto a running HVAC system?

Pat.

I looked through the manual, it looks like this unit draws a full 10 watts at 24VAC, so it would likely need its own transformer. This means you would need to connect an isolation relay across * and C to control power to this device if you wanted to control it with a smart thermostat.
You would need to make sure you have an unused wire in the wall between your thermostat and the furnace, and you would need to reset your thermostat and re add it, telling it that you have all the same wires you originally told it that your old thermostat had with the addition of * for a humidifier.
