I have a Floodlight V2 and Cam V3 that recently started to show “Device Offline”. I still receive motion notifications from both cameras, but I can not view the live view or view the SD card recall. If I am at home on the same Eero Mesh network I can see both of these cameras fine. I also have one other V3 and Doorbell V2 working just fine on this same network.
I have followed many of the other suggestions on the reboot of the network, unpairing the device and readding it my profile. This is the case for both an Android and Apple IOS.
Try setting your phone(s) 5G DNS to Google DNS - depending on phone:
- 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
- dns.google
Each cam uses different streaming protocols, so it sounds like your router or ISP may be blocking something. Or if you have wireless home internet, they often attempt to compress video streams and that can cause issues as well. If you confirm what kind of internet you have and whether it is your own router or supplied but the ISP, that will help narrow it down. Also if anything changed lately with your internet service or equipment.
I’ve viewed all of my cameras in Calfornia from New York via WiFi and Cell Data without any issues numerous times.
Yeah I’ve never had any problems either but it seems to be an issue with the 5G internet providers sometimes, have also seen router “advanced security” or “malware protection” false positive on stuff like this too.
I didn’t notice in the original post that one v3 does it and the other doesn’t, which doesn’t make much sense, perhaps different firmware or something.
Since one V3 works remotely and the other doesn’t on the same Eero mesh, I’d open Device Info on both and compare firmware plus which mesh node each is on. If the broken cams sit on a different node than the working ones, move them onto the gateway node for a test, or temporarily turn off Eero Secure, which can block remote live view while still letting motion notifications through.
Hi All,
Somehow this matter seemed to resolve itself on it’s own as soon as I posted about my problem. BUT, now that my Floodlight Camera is showing online and has a live feed, the SD card is not accessible. If you go back in time for an event it displays “No video available at this time”. I have formatted the SD card, changed the type of recording to events only vs continuous, cleared the cache and synced the time. I had it working for a few hours two days ago, but it has since reverted back to no video available again.
