That would be the day that WWIII starts
Itâs not solved. I have spent half an hour to delete all events manually. Itâs very unreasonable
TBH, itâs pathetic and is just 1 of the things yhat is implemented poorly
One other is if you try and listen to audio on the web client, not the app, itâs not availableđ¤¨
Give it up people. This issue with deleting events has been running for 7 years. Wyze couldnât care less. Wyze is not going to fix it.
I just let mine scroll off, since they will be deleted in 2 weeks.
What am I missing?
The trick is, before you tap the pencil icon, you need to keep scrolling to the bottom until no more events load. Only events that are loaded on the page will be deleted when you tap Select All > Delete. And as mentioned earlier, you can only delete one day at a time. I have a lot of events and it takes me about 10-15 seconds to delete one dayâs worth. So should be under five minutes to delete the full 14 days.
Wyze will mention ocassionally that Cloud storage is very costly and they must run the company in a cash positive manner. Yet, there is no easy way to delete 2 weeks of Cloud videos.
Even if a small percentage of Wyze users like to easily delete 2 weeks of Cloud videos on a regular basis wouldnât that save Wyze some storage costs?
I am tagging @carverofchoice because this might be a good AMA in the future unless it has already been addressed.
Cloud storage is expensive⌠Hence why subscribers pay for it.
If it were free I would think most folk wouldnât moan about the event deletions
Iâll add it to my list.
#AMA2ASK :
Will Wyze consider better options to delete all cloud events (for a camera or the whole account), which would save storage costs? The resources spent to implement this feature would presumably be paid for by the number of people deleting events early and saving Wyze on Storage costs.
(asked 10/25/24)
I agree, Cloud storage is expensive for Wyze. However, Wyze users paying for Cam Plus pay the same monthly or annual cost whether Cloud videos are kept for 2 weeks or deleted immediately.
why is the false moderator response marked as a solution? the developers probably donât even know this sucks - that you canât delete them all - only 1 day at a time - and with scrolling - fix this issue - donât scam us with a cute moderater power - this is NOT ALL - you have to scroll for ALL FOR ONE DAY ⌠itâs not even close.
Here is an existing wish list topic for the feature you request. You can only currently delete one full day at a time by following the directions outlined at the top of this topic. You can vote and comments on the below wish list topic and that is what the devs and engineers look at when looking for information on new features or functions.
The owner (OP) of a forum topic (1st post) decides which reply, if any, is a solution to their topic and is the only user who can mark a reply as the solution. Moderators do not intervene. The OP asked how to delete a day of events. A moderator gave them a solution.
Your use case involves easily deleting a day or more of events without tedious scrolling which is beyond the scope of the OPâs issue and belongs in the Wishlist category.
This is basically a user-to-user community forum. Wyze does not usually read posts in general areas such as this Cameras category. Wyze looks for topics/posts in the Wishlist category, which is the area where users can suggest changes/enhancements to current design or request new products. You can learn about the features of the Wishlist and how it works here: How to Use the Wishlist.
This topic is hilarious. Itâs amusing how every generation of new users discovers this and complains. Here is a repeat of what I said a while back: The issue about deleting events has been on-going for 6 years - ever since Wyze was founded and made a first camera. This issue is NOT going to be fixed - ever. Wyze doesnât care and doesnât give a damn. Wyze will never see your comments in this forum. Wyze will never see the fictional Wishlist. Wyze is focused on creating new crap because itâs still hoping that a big company will buy them out and make the current owners billionaires. You, the Wyze customer, are not a priority. Personally, Iâm satisfied that the cameras still sort-of work. That is, until the next update, which screws up something.
Whatâs more hilarious is âmodsâ trying to apologize for Wyzeâs ineptitude
