I just want to detection zones to work right. I keep setting areas for detection NOT to pick up motion so it will block out my flag flying and vehicles driving by but it seems to ignore this. Maybe setting detection zone is a paid function?? If it is, it should not be.
It isn’t. What specific detail can you provide about what Cam(s) you’re using and how you have your Detection Zone set? If you don’t already have Motion Tagging enabled, then please enable that, at least temporarily. That’s the feature that draws green boxes around areas of your image where motion is being detected, and enabling that can be helpful in troubleshooting Detection Zone issues.
Additionally, if you want to upload screenshots for other community members to provide input, then that can also be helpful:
- Detection Zone (how you have it set, what’s grey and what isn’t)
- An example or two of an event snapshot that shows motion being detected with Motion Tagging enabled
If we can compare those two images, then that can help determine what adjustments you might want to make to your Detection Zone.
Flags are tricky. I’ve had to adjust the Detection Zones on a few cameras (a doorbell and some looking out windows) in order to compensate for that. It’s kind of a trial-and-error process and can take some time to tune.
